We are currently looking for candidates to boost our group developing core, global algorithmic building blocks for driver assistance and drive automation SW products. Join us now and become a member of teams owning the overall development of our technology components with duties spanning from innovation to release.

We are now building a dedicated team to own a SW components in the domain of vehicle localization. In this exciting role you will work with a variety of  technologies, from on-board sensors like wheel encoders and IMUs to perception sensors and global navigation systems.

Your Role 

  • Overall owner of an assigned navigation components responsible for host vehicle state estimator for automotive driver assistance and drive automation systems

  • Contribute to a scalable and configurable solutions ensuring effective deployment depending on:

    • Vehicle platform (sensor setup, vehicle type) 

    • Targeted automation level and operational design domain 

    • Application of an estimator: perception quality, closed loop control performance, accuracy and integrity of localization

  • Main coordinator of the algorithm development, vehicle test, independent test and validation as well as software engineering competencies

  • Maximizing the value of the product and the work of the development team

  • Develop the product strategy and manage the product roadmap

  • Effectively work on the development team backlog, setup priorities, refine and communicate backlog items and be responsible of on time delivery for every customer program where the development team is involved

  • Define the resources necessary to support a new project and work with GPO Engineering Group Manger to ensure that staffing

  • Marry top class engineering, creativity and automotive design processes to achieve excellence in functional performance and design quality 

  • Single Point of Contact for OEMs / program managers for all matters related to the assigned software components features and functions

  • Technical documentation for design documentation, calibration manuals and knowledge sharing

  • Analysis of technical issues related to the given sensing function – verification of issues in the vehicle, driving and testing. Participating in some test drives that meet NCAP and NTSA regulations

  • Driving the test vehicle to verify that your own software components work as expected, verification of bug reports, and analysis of the feature performance

  • Working globally, across the EU countries, Asia and North America – role will involve international and intercontinental travel multiple times a year

  • Systems engineering: requirements negotiation, system definition and documents writing

  • Manage risks on the development team level including planning and tracking activities according to customer projects milestones

  • Manage internal and external stakeholders

  • Report and escalate issues in case of non-achievable targets

  • Drive the compliance with Quality Assurance (QA) and Global SPICE Compliant Process (GSCP)

Your Background 

  • MSc degree in Control Systems, Automation and Robotics, or similar

  • Basic knowledge of software development using C/C++, Python, MATLAB

  • Experience as systems engineer, function owner, product owner, technical project manager or related

  • Hands-on mentality, independent and with own initiative and high level of motivation and dedication

  • Excellent communication and team work skills

    • One of the following: 

      • Experience in automotive control systems

      • Experience in motion control systems for UAVs, UUVs or similar

      • Experience in algorithm design for precise localization

    • One of the following:

      • Expertise in state estimation, tracking and information fusion

      • Expertise in radar perception systems

      • Expertise in vision perception systems

      • Expertise in localization, mapping or GNSS (RTK) technology

  • Experience of working in an Agile engineering organization and software lifecycle management

  • Experience with Agile development tools such as JIRA, Confluence

  • Awareness of ISO 26262 and / or Experience with automotive systems development processes

  • Fluent command in spoken and written English.
