The Junior Financial Analyst will be joining the dynamic Data and Technology (D&T) Business and Value Management team at OMERS. This role offers a unique opportunity for career development and growth, working cross functionally to manage and prioritize D&T funding and headcount to deliver value for our enterprise customers.

As a member of this team, you will handle:

  • Aiding in the preparation, analysis, and presentation of financial reporting

  • Completing invoice processing, including the coding of non-PO invoices

  • Supporting the development and execution of annual D&T budgets, including planning, forecasting, tracking, and reporting on financial performance

  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to track and manage project expenditures and ensure alignment with project objectives and timelines

  • Helping in the management of software assets, including tracking usage, managing licenses, and consulting with stakeholders

  • Partnering on strategic initiatives to optimize the utilization of D&T funding and resources

Qualifications:

  • A college diploma in Business Accounting, Business Administration or Business Management (strong understanding of financial and accounting principles)

  • Early stages of career within a related field (ideally in a technology organization)

  • Proficient with GL data, vendor contracts, purchase orders and invoices

  • Working knowledge of finance and procurement systems (e.g. Oracle E-Business Suite, Anaplan, Basware)

  • Ability using Microsoft tools (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)

OMERS is a jointly-sponsored pension plan, with more than 1,000 participating employers ranging from large cities to local agencies, and over half a million active, deferred and retired members. OMERS members include union and non-union employees of municipalities, school boards, local boards, transit systems, electrical utilities, emergency services and children’s aid societies across Ontario. Contributions to the Plan are funded equally by members and employers.
