POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:The Data Analyst II uses Business Intelligence to collaborate with Stakeholders and Business Analysts, understanding business data needs and translating those requirements into effective reporting, visualization, and actionable insights. This individual works as a liaison between the business and development teams.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1. Gather requirements and create specs for report development.2. Be a curious problem solver working with end users to resolve technical issues as well as business reporting issues.3. Build key metrics to predict the future based on past pattern and communicate to the business through dashboards, reporting and data analysis.4. Recommend enhancement and automation to current reporting capabilities to drive efficiency and meet future business needs.5. Identify applicable technology alternatives to given business data problems.6. Lead the review of new products, services and solutions for data mining and display of metrics.7. Ensure that metrics and KPIs are developed and monitored pertaining to their specific solution/functional group.8. Facilitate training and create documentation on BI applications and processes.9. Coordinate internal reporting – collaborate with Business Analyst to gather requirements, perform needs analysis, data analysis, potential data query and testing.10. Responsible for platform data quality and appropriate correctable actions.11. Work collaboratively to design technology roadmaps for applications and their integration across platforms.12. Mentor and coach other Data Analyst and Support Specialist positions.13. Participate in industry and application peer groups/advisory councils.14. Serve as an escalation point for application specific tasks or data/reporting issues. 15. Act in accordance with Marco policies and procedures as set forth in the employee handbook.16. Perform other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience using and implementing the T-SQL language for data mining and analysis. Experience developing and administering SQL Reporting Services (SSRS) reports.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Solid understanding of workflow and data relationships.
- Technical aptitude combined with comprehension of the co-relationship between technical tools and business process.
- Accomplished in BI technologies, reporting software and data analysis/mining tools.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
- Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Excellent organizational and time/task management skills; self-starter with ability to perform with little or no supervision.
- Ability to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
- Function collaboratively as part of a fast-paced, client orientated team.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under a full workload with aggressive deadlines.
