Postdoc in Algorithms – DTU Compute
Kgs. Lyngby, Denmark
DTU - Technical University of Denmark
We invite you to apply for a postdoc in algorithms. The postdoc takes place at the AlgoLoG section, DTU Compute; a section devoted to the study of theoretical computer science and graph theory. Our current research interests include graph algorithms, computational geometry, combinatorial pattern matching, graph theory, and data structures.
Responsibilities
You will engage in the pursuit of new, efficient discrete algorithms for computational problems involving interesting topics such as: graphs, geometry, data structures, dynamic updates, distributed computation, and more. You will work in collaboration with the postdoc adviser, associate professor Eva Rotenberg, who has a background in discrete algorithms, broadly, and graph algorithms, specifically. Together, we will study and discuss different hypotheses, problems, and ideas concerning important open problems in algorithms and data structures. Examples of areas we could approach together are (1) dynamic graph algorithms, that is, algorithms for graphs that undergo changes or updates, (2) distributed graph algorithms, (3) planar and graph-related computational geometry, or (4) questions in combinatorics and graph theory relating to algorithmic problems.
Qualifications
As a formal qualification, you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent) by the time of employment. (Not necessarily by the time of application.) Your skill set should include design and analysis of algorithms and/or data structures. Good skills in scientific communication are appreciated, and we value both independence and the ability to engage in collaboration with peers. We expect that you have publications at relevant venues, e.g. STOC, FOCS, SODA, SOCG, ICALP, PODC, ESA, STACS, or similar.
Assessment
Applications are assessed by Associate Professor Eva Rotenberg.
We offer
DTU is a leading technical university globally recognized for the excellence of its research, education, innovation and scientific advice. To apply, please open the link "Apply now", fill out the online application form, and attach all your materials in English in one PDF file. The file must include:
- Application (cover letter)
- CV
- Academic Diplomas (MSc/PhD – in English if possible)
- List of publications
- And may, optionally, include a brief research statement.
Applications received after the deadline will not be considered.
