As a Data Architect for Corporate Functions, you will contribute to solving complex problems by designing or modifying data architectures for our Corporate Functions department.
An efficient and effective technology & data landscape is essential to support our business processes within Corporate Functions. With a diverse customer group spanning from Communications & Engagement to Legal, the role will involve data architecture and governance supporting specific business capabilities.


 

Job Description

Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Support creation and execution of data management strategy for Corporate Functions.

  • Responsible for implementation & adoption of enterprise data management principles for higher data maturity.

  • Support implementation & adoption of enterprise data management principles. Customize and adopt enterprise data policy, data management (DM) framework, guidelines and standards for Corporate Function and execute the adoption roadmap for maturing the data management practice.

  • Identification of function specific data, by:

  • Creation of logical and physical data models based on business requirements.

  • Ensure solutions are aligned and documented according to Novartis data architecture principles.

  • Collaborate closely with domain- and solution-architects to design solution-architectures that comply to all Novartis standards.

  • Define and Track Key Performance Measure related to data architecture deliverables.

  • Define and maintain data landscape/dataflows for Corporate Functions.

  • Provide data architecture trainings, coaching and expert level advise.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Overall relevant work experience of about 5-10 years, ideally at multi-national organizations, in-depth specialized expertise in data management, ideally with a significant portion being within pharmaceutical and/or healthcare industry.

  • Bachelor's degree in a computer science, engineering, or information technology discipline; an advanced degree and related accreditations is a plus.

  • Hands on experience in data management including data strategy, data governance, data architecture, source to target mapping processes, etc.

  • Experience in data governance /data management practices, systems and processes including data governance, master data management, meta-data management, data quality management.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain successful relationships with senior leaders IT or non-IT backgrounds and ability to successfully manage projects involving multi-functional teams in a matrixed environment.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience working in an IT Environment supporting Corporate Functions.

  • Experience working with Data Governance Frameworks as DAMA-DMBOK or DCAM.
