With import duties being a significant indirect tax at VF, the company requires comprehensive, near real-time visibility to its cross-border trade transactions.  Based at VF’s Global Product Supply office in Singapore, the Analyst, Global Trade Data Management will support the implementation and execution of solutions that fulfill VF’s need for global duty dashboards, enhancing visibility to inform and advance strategic decision-making and optimization capabilities and efforts.

How You Will Make a Difference:  

  • Partnering with VF’s Sr. Manager for Customs Systems, the Analyst will develop robust import and duty dashboard platforms and capabilities directly integrated with external customs brokers and internal VF systems.
  • Implement and maintain data analytics platforms utilizing the latest in analytics tools and visualization software (Power BI, Business Objects, Tableau).
  • Examine the benefits of working with and setting-up a data pool to extract all relevant data elements and objects.
  • As a key team member within the extended customs & trade (C&T) organization around the world, train end users on the reporting platforms and technologies.
  • Support initiatives and efforts to integrate customs and trade data analytics together with other functional areas, such as Global Logistics, Global Product Supply, and Global Product Costing.
  • Establish scalable reporting tools to support short-term tactical transactional analysis and medium-term trend analysis; produce reporting in support of VF’s Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) long term multi-horizon planning.

Skills for Success:  

Years of Related Professional Experience: 5+ years of progressive customs and trade experience at large multinational(s), preferably in the apparel and footwear sector. Demonstrated subject matter expertise in the foundations of the global harmonized trading system core tenets of classification, trade agreements, valuation; knowledge and expertise in the most current systems and data platforms.  Familiarity with AI tools, LLM’s, machine learning, relevant programming knowledge a plus.

Educational/Position Requirements:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, business, economics, or related disciplines
  • 5 years minimum experience in a customs/global trade compliance capacity, preferably in the apparel and footwear sector
  • Subject matter expert (SME) in both customs & trade and data, systems and analytics in this arena.
  • Experience with Global Trade Management (GTM), Logistics and Sourcing systems, such as SAP Global Trade Services (GTS), Descartes/Customs Info, Infor Nexus
  • Skilled at managing large data sets with tools such as Power BI, Business Objects, Tableau and similar visualization platforms.
  • Experience using data sources, such as US Customs ACE, EU Taric, WTO International Trade Center Market Access Map, Descartes/CustomsInfo; in-depth understanding of global trade data structure and architecture, meta data, and customs brokerage systems environments.
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a matrixed environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and logical thinking capabilities
  • Fluent in English
