About the Job:

As a Robotics Demo Designer, you will help evangelize our ROS-enabled products to both technical and non-technical audiences by developing creative, engaging high-value technical content. You will work closely with our Marketing, Engineering, Product and Sales teams, along with industry partners, to develop technical marketing content, including compelling robot demos, proof-of-concept designs, engaging YouTube-style videos. You may potentially represent Clearpath as a technical evangelist in the digital world and at key trade shows, conferences and customer meetings.

In helping to create these ROS-enabled products, you will have a chance to leverage a broad range of engineering skills: creating 3D-printed proof-of-concept designs; selecting, integrating, and wiring various electronic components such as sensors and microcontroller development kits; writing and configuring ROS software to make it all work; and adding enhancements to our Web UI to show that the system is easy to use. Then, once it’s all working, you will document your work in a blog post that will enable others to reproduce your cool design.

Responsibilities include:
  • Assist in producing technical content such as robot demos, videos, webinars, tutorials and guides, technical white papers, conference presentations, workshops
  • Assist in developing creative and engaging YouTube-style videos that connect with our technical audience
  • Coordinate and develop unique and compelling product demos for marketing videos and tradeshows/conferences
  • Work with the marketing team to brainstorm and develop ideas for creative marketing campaigns, content strategy, events, and activities
  • Liaise with technical partners on strategic co-marketing initiatives
  • Work with the engineering team to create demo products and applications through the design of 3D-printed mechanical parts, the integration of various electronic components, the development of ROS software to make it all work, and the enhancement of our Web UI
  • Generate tutorials for Clearpath’s robots and software by building the examples yourself
  • Keep our community of researchers and professionals engaged with Clearpath by demonstrating and communicating bigger and better things.
  • Producing professional grade renders of our products
Skills and Experience:
  • BASc in engineering with software and robotics experience considered, or equivalent
  • Experience developing demos, tutorials, webinars, videos, technical collateral, etc.
  • Working technical knowledge of robotics software frameworks including hands on experience with Linux, ROS, C++ or Python
  • Well-organized and detail oriented
  • Experience and willingness to appear on-camera
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, unpredictable environment
  • Able to coordinate and work effectively across many teams
Bonus:
  • Experience with MoveIt/RViz/Gazebo and MATLAB, Qt, C/C#
  • Experience authoring in Sphinx and LaTex documentation generators
  • Understanding of B2B marketing elements including traditional and digital marketing, e.g., social media (YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn), email marketing, SEO, content marketing etc.
  • Experience with sensors and hardware, and basic electrical and mechanical systems integration
  • You can explain code to grade schooler without having them keel over from boredom
