Position Overview

As the Business Intelligence & Data Analytics Specialist, your role will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining a robust data infrastructure to empower stakeholders in making informed business decisions. Your primary responsibilities will encompass end-to-end development of new Qlik Sense applications and the customization of existing ones. Your focus will involve extracting, transforming, and analyzing data from diverse sources, while also designing data models, reports, and dashboards. To succeed in this role, you should possess a demonstrated track record in BI engineering, a deep understanding of data analytics techniques, proficient programming skills, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.

Key Result Areas & Tasks

The Primary Activities May Include:

  • Build and maintain knowledge on existing/new data sources, data quality, and metadata.

  • Collaboration with Stakeholders:

    • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and peers to understand their data requirements and gather insights into what information is needed for decision-making.

    • Translate requirements into technical specifications and implement solutions accordingly.
       

  • Data Querying, Data Integration and Quality Assurance:

    • Employ SQL queries to retrieve data from various sources.

    • Integrate data from multiple sources and ensure data quality, consistency, and accuracy, by performing checks to identify and rectify any inconsistencies or errors.
       

  • Data Pipelines and ETL:

    • Collect, transform, and load data into the BI system.

    • Perform ETL activities to ensure data is prepared and structured appropriately for analysis.
       

  • Data Modelling, Visualization and Reporting:

    • Design and create data models that represent the structure and relationships within the data. These models shall serve as the foundation for reporting and analysis.

    • Create visualizations to present data in a meaningful and accessible way for business users.

    • Build reports and interactive dashboards that allow users to explore data, analyze trends, and make informed decisions.
       

  • Data Analytics:

    • Employ relevant programming languages to clean, transform, and model data with the goal of discovering useful information, informing conclusions, and supporting decision-making.
       

Experience & Competencies

Ideal Experience, Skillset & Competencies:

  • Strong academic record in a related field.

  • At least 2-3 years of prior work experience in similar roles.

  • Proficient English knowledge, both written and spoken.

  • Strong hands-on experience with Visualization tools (Qlik Sense or/and Power BI).

  • Deep knowledge and hands-on experience with SQL & ETL.

  • Programming skills in Python and/or R.

  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to quickly develop effective trust-based relationships, working closely with cross functional stakeholders across the business.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a globally dispersed team.

  • Ability to make high-level presentations for senior executives.

It would be great if you have:

  • Strong knowledge of Qlik technologies including Qlik Sense

  • Familiarity with key digital and marketing tools, such as:

    • Veeva CRM,

    • Google Analytics or other web tracking technologies,

    • Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC)
