About Anti Financial Crime and Compliance Tech (AFCC)

Our AFCC team is responsible for protecting Deutsche Bank from financial and reputational losses incurred by financial crimes by assessing, controlling, and mitigating risks. Risk types related to Anti-Financial Crime are consolidated in a comprehensive and effective risk management framework that covers Anti-Money-Laundering, Sanctions & Embargoes, Anti-Bribery & Corruption as well as Anti-Fraud & Investigations.

Your profile

The Business Functional Analyst is part of the Anti-Fraud Bribery and Corruption delivery Tribe, Strategic Monitoring area, being responsible for the good quality and right granularity of the Product Backlog, ensuring that requirements are captured, analyzing the impact of changes, and supporting the business throughout the implementation process of analytical solutions.

You will play a crucial role in developing, deploying, and continuously improving business intelligence via Tableau that provides stakeholders with actionable insights.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with the Product Owner, Scrum Master and development team ensuring appropriate functional details are captured, shared, and understood at the right granularity: epic/story/task level
  • Defines business, process and data requirements in partnership and collaboration with other team members and external teams
  • Supports the design and conceptualization of new analytical business solution options
  • Makes sure that the Product Backlog Items are Estimable, Small and fulfil the Definition of Ready before entering in the Sprint Backlog, ensuring that all functional dependencies have been analyzed (Identify risks / issues)
  • Translate business needs: create models, diagrams, presentations, and other documentation, that support the target audience to understand the business requirements
  • Formulates and creates functional / non-functional specification documentations in close partnership with engineering teams
  • Supports validation of requirements via reviews, walkthroughs, and demos, definition of UAT test cases and support for UAT Testing; collaborates in the release process and closure of SDLC related controls
  • Reviews business and downstream consumers facing documentation (e.g., desktop procedures, solution briefs, functional summaries, design documents)
  • Works with engineers to resolve functional issues arising from user acceptance testing and to prioritize, troubleshoot and resolve reported bugs/issues/CRs (change requests)
  • Develops hypotheses to explain why usability, process, functional and data issues have occurred or are likely to occur
  • Facilitates communication at team level to create consensus on scope, design, and implementation decisions

Technical Competence:

  • Hands-on experience with business intelligence tools (Tableau, Looker, SAP BOBJ…)
  • Strong knowledge on technology & database concepts, SQL, ETL, data analytics
  • Sound knowledge of methods and tooling for the Business Functional Analysis Profession
  • Experience working with business requirements through to system level functional specifications.
  • Experience in an IT environment involving multiple applications and technologies is a plus
  • Experience in IT change projects and varying project / program environments (waterfall, scrum/agile, etc.)
  • Financial services industry knowledge is a plus
  • Full SDLC experience on large complex systems is a plus, but not fully required
  • Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment with multiple teams
  • Previous experience in working in data analytics projects hosted on cloud infrastructure, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP), either as part of a cloud migration and/or day-to-day operations
  • Deep knowledge of MS Office products
  • Fluent in English (written/verbal)

  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving experience and ability to grasp new concepts, provide insights and solutions

  • High degree of proving soft skills while working with both IT and business colleagues.
  • Ability to influence and motivate other team members and stakeholders through strong dialogue, facilitation, and persuasiveness
  • Excellent communications and documentation/presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

Education/Certification:

  • Degree from an accredited college or university with a preference for Computer Science (or IT related)
  • Business Analysis certification (and/or relevant work experience)
  • At least 5 years of experience in IT Business Analysis in a large enterprise working on mission-critical IT systems
