SUMMARY

We are seeking a Data Manager - AI, BI & Analytics Governance to join our dynamic and growing Applied Data Analytics (ADA) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) team. In this role, you will help build the data foundation for the ADA team and also implement data governance and data management best practices for our ADA Innovation Hub in Toronto. You will play an impactful and critical role in organizing the Critical Data Elements (CDEs) that are most important to running a real estate business and drive the integration, mastering and transforming of our unique internal datasets with external data to drive insights, inform strategic decisions, and optimize our operations.

 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Data Governance, Data Pipelines and ETL Processes

  • Utilize your educational background in a quantitative field, such as computer science, mathematics, or engineering, to design, build, and maintain data a foundation supporting AI and advanced analytics including data governance, data pipelines and ETL processes.
  • Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines and ETL processes to support CDEs and Master data sources, ensuring data quality, data accuracy and accessibility for analysis and modeling.
  • Apply your passion for problem-solving to address complex data-related challenges and optimize data workflows.
  • Communicate effectively across technical and business domains, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of AI, analytic and data solutions.
  • Leverage over five years of experience in data management or data engineering, preferably with teams focused on analytics including but not limited to business intelligence, machine learning, artificial intelligence, or data science.

Data Quality and Audit

  • Collaborate closely with data scientists and AI/ML analysts, providing them with clean, structured data necessary for advanced statistical modeling and machine learning.
  • Regularly support Data Audits and Data Profiling to address data quality issues.

Best Practice and Continuous Learning

  • Demonstrate an aptitude for continuous learning, staying current with emerging technologies and best practices in data/feature engineering, AI and analytics.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of data warehousing, cloud technologies, and big data solutions, constantly updating and improving our data infrastructure.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Math, Engineering, etc.).
  • Over five years of hands-on experience in data engineering, with some emphasis and familiarity with data preparation for AI and ML projects.
  • A natural curiosity and enthusiasm for tackling challenging problems.
  • Proficiency in data manipulation via SQL.
  • Proficiency in data pipeline development, data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques [Power BI, Tableau, Python libraries)
  • Experience with data engineering technologies and data movement and transformation (e.g. Fivetran, DBT, Informatica, Matillion, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
