What You Will Do  

We are continually onboarding and analyzing a massive amount of new food, nutrition, and consumer products onto our platform. This requires ongoing data creation, analysis, data accuracy, and maintaining rigorous food, nutrition, and product data standards. Think of it as a Consumer Reports for food and consumer products.

To support these efforts, our product intelligence team is looking for a highly detail-oriented Senior Data Analyst, Reporting & Analytics. In this role, you’ll work with our data and business leadership to enable better decision-making through the use of analytics, insights, reporting, and data visualizations. You’ll work on our core data platform where you’ll help manage and optimize our data pipeline by creating dashboards and reporting tools that allow our business and data operations to derive key insights and ultimately drive better data pipeline management. You’ll also be working on internal data and insights reports to support our operations, research, and business teams and allow them to work more efficiently as we continue to scale. This includes 1) the creation of reporting tools, insights, and dashboards; 2) identification and recommendation of improvements and refinements to our overall data processing pipeline; 3) support of the expansion of our database and data classifications in line with growing market trends; 4) internal-facing reporting; 5) customer-facing reporting, and much more.

What you will be doing

  • Support and help optimize our core data platform which processes large, complex data sets from a variety of sources
  • Envision and contribute to internal data and reporting tools that support our operations, research and business teams
  • Translate organizational reporting needs into production reports and dashboards
  • Support product intelligence reporting needs, both ad hoc and on a continuous basis
  • Perform analysis and drive insights for continuous data pipeline improvement recommendations
  • Conduct continuous reviews of reports and identify opportunities for improvements to reduce redundant reporting and develop single source of truth metrics where possible
  • Develop data-driven models to support and provide operational recommendations for our overall data collection activities
  • Regularly examine analytics and reports to identify and resolve data mistakes and discrepancies
  • Work with our nutrition and food science teams to produce reports that help maintain data checks, data ingestion, and data upkeep across our product database
  • Generate monthly reports for customer-facing invoicing
  • Make data-driven recommendations and help expand our database to align with growing market trends
  • Help drive business goals by identifying and proposing process improvements grounded in data and metrics
  • Support various departments, including operations, marketing, and sales in reaching their goals through reporting and dashboard creation
  • Design report templates and dashboards to support internal and external stakeholders across a myriad of use cases

What You Bring

  • 3+ years of relevant experience, preferably within a Data/Analytics, Data Integration or Data Project Management role
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (Preferable areas of study: 1) Bachelor/Master’s of Science in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Data Science; Statistics; Engineering; or 2) Bachelor/Master’s of Business with further education or work experience in Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Food Science)
  • Proven ability to derive insights and present information to internal and external business teams through visualizations and reports
  • Experience working with large, complex data sets
  • Experience with or interest in Tableau or other data technologies
  • Experience working with Excel (and similar) to create complex data models
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a desire to communicate data-driven insights via reporting and dashboards
  • Excellent communication skills, polished reporting and presentation skills, a positive attitude, and empathy
  • Ability to consolidate and simplify complex problems into tangible recommendations and reports
  • Self-awareness and a desire to continually learn and improve
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment under pressure, adhere to deadlines, deliver high-quality results and manage competing demands

Bonus Point For

  • Advanced knowledge of Data Analytics and Data Visualization best practices
  • Experience creating and managing ETL pipelines
  • Experience with NoSQL databases and/or REST APIs in general
  • Experience working with SQL
  • Background in the grocery retail or CPG (Consumer Product) industry
  • Prior experience related to data analytics, consulting, or project management
