Position Title: ANZ Agronomy Technology & Data Analyst

McCain Foods has invested into Digital Agriculture to develop a set of initiatives that will help position McCain for the future, through leveraging technologies focusing on adopting innovative & world-class agriculture practices which will help realize the company’s vision of sustainable competitive advantage as well as market leadership whilst eliminating risks and uncertainties.


About the role
The ANZ Agronomy Technology & Data Analyst will be responsible for leading and facilitating strategic Agriculture digital transformation initiatives for McCain ANZ, this will be achieved through:

 

  • Gaining a clear understanding of ANZ current processes and capabilities to identify gaps between current state and recommended future state
  • Collaborating with Subject Matter Experts (SME) and Global Product owners
  • Drive validation and adoption of the initiatives whilst having a structured approach to change management for both McCain and our Growers to ensure a smooth execution
  • Expected to perform as a storyteller, innovative thinker, and an effective collaborator, this role will lead data analytics innovation and solutions, create data-driven decision support tools, 
  • Engage with the Ag management team on a regular basis to identify opportunities to engage the team and key stakeholders to deliver tangible outcomes for agronomy, storage, regenerative agriculture, seed pipeline and variety development goals
  • Own and drive deployment activities by working with SMEs to execute overall product launch in ANZ, with support from global

 

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Agriculture field of study or Data Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, or related field. Master’s degree is preferred
  • 1 Year of work experience as a data analyst, preferably with industry experience in agriculture or manufacturing
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with statistical software applications, JMP preferred
  • Experience, or willingness to learn, programming languages (R, HTML, Python, Javascript, C/C++, SQL)
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
  • Ability to travel within ANZ as required to support technology implementation and training
  • Self-motivated with proven interpersonal and relationship skills with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to work independently and within teams on abstract projects with minimal supervision 
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, anticipate the future and change within the role
