Job summary
A part of Amazon's Robotics Artificial Intelligence Organization, Canvas Technology is using spatial AI to provide end-to-end autonomous delivery of goods. By using state-of-the-art cameras and other sensors, the system perceives its surroundings with unrivaled vision and fidelity. The system combines a mix of high-performance sensors with simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) software that builds and continuously updates maps in real-time. It has the capability to ‘see’ and identify different objects, people, vehicles, and places as it moves and reacts to moving objects in an intelligent way.
The Canvas team is seeking broad, curious engineers to join our team. We holistically design, build, and deliver end-to-end robotic systems. Our team is also responsible for core infrastructure and tools that serve as the backbone of our robotic applications, enabling roboticists, machine learning scientists, software engineers, and hardware engineers to collaborate and deploy systems in the field.
Key job responsibilities
Implement robotic software applications, infrastructure, and tools.
Work with stakeholders across hardware, science, and operations teams to iterate on systems design and implementation.
Create robust, high-quality, well-tested software to interface with and control sensors, actuators, and other hardware.
Collaborate with machine learning and robotic controls experts to implement and deploy algorithms, such as machine learning models.
Develop robotic systems across the entire lifecycle, from proof of concept to production
Profile, tune, and optimize system performance.
Create re-usable software and systems to accelerate robotics development.
Maintain high standards by participating in reviews, designing for fault tolerance and operational excellence, and creating mechanisms for continuous improvement.
Bachelor or advanced Degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or equivalent.
* Experience with object-oriented design using C++ and/or Java.
* AWS experience.
* Familiarity with language constructs included in modern versions of C++ or Java
* Experience building and testing real-time & asynchronous systems.
* Demonstrable experience in building, programming and integrating software for robotic systems.
* Experience in software design and architecture.
* Proficiency developing production-quality software
* A passion for delighting our customers, no matter how complex or simple the solution.
