As a Data Analyst at Tiger Analytics, you will apply strong expertise in AI through the use of machine learning, data mining, and information retrieval to design, prototype, and build next generation advanced analytics engines and services. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and business partners to define the technical problem statement and hypotheses to test. You will have the opportunity to drive current and future strategy by leveraging your analytical skills as you ensure business value and communicate the results.
Key Responsibilities:
This requirement is for a Student loans remediation team. This team looks into cases where there have been instances of overcharging to the client, late fee/ additional interest charges, etc. They need to find out the root cause of this and work towards remediation and intervention strategies. The need is for Data Mining skills (SQL proficiency is a must, handling complex queries). In addition, organizational, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills are good to have.
Requirements
- Work with remediation analysts and business partners to review eprob, population file, or any relevant documents provided by triage team to understand the issue and harm caused to the impacted consumers.
- Work with the team to review SQL queries provided by triage or BT, and write challenger queries to validate the impacted population of the issue. Present to the management team and seek approval on the population.
- Make recommendations and seek approval from management on the remediation category. Review and write challenger queries to validate the input data provided by BT and ensure accuracy of the redress amount calculation.
- Prepare the remediation file and submit it for redress execution. Validate and audit the output to make sure redress is executed as intended.
- Provide data support for the remediation analysts for proper documentation within eprob, data requests from internal audits, etc.
- Develop and automate reports on redress for leadership and regulatory update if needed.
- Build out standardized templates for data pull and redress calculation where applicable. Recommend improvement to work processes to increase efficiency while maintaining the quality of work.
Skills/Education
- SQL expertise (including complex joins, grouping aggregation, nested subqueries, and cursors)
- Strong critical thinking skills, with proven ability to; 1) think creatively about how to solve problems with data, and 2) troubleshoot quality issues
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, applied mathematics, engineering) Master's degree preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, five years of experience preferred (avg. incumbent has seven years of exp.)
