Control Risks is looking to bring on a Senior Compliance Data Analyst as a part of an embedded project with a top tier client of ours in the tech industry. This role will provide analytics support to the client's Compliance and Ethics Group's investigations practice.

The investigation analytics program provides the investigations team and proactive compliance community with critical support on complex problems. Analytics and modeling work will leverage the Client's internal data, human intelligence, and other information gathered through investigations, control functions, and business-led compliance activity. The role will target a broad range of compliance risks, including but not limited to corruption, fraud, and money laundering.

Responsibilities

  • Provide data-driven research into potential issues relating to financial crimes, compliance concerns, money laundering, and corruption.
  • Evaluate disparate datasets to determine any limitations and how to best answer stakeholder questions.
  • Independently scope the request, clearly communicate with non-technical stakeholders, and deliver the investigations report and Power BI dashboard to the requesting party.
  • Build and maintain awareness of the broader context and implications of the various types of risk affecting the business (e.g., financial, legal, reputation, etc.).
  • Write concise technical documentation including but not limited to the following: knowledge base, sustainable best practices, training materials, and presentations. 
  • Analyze search results within the context of the project and country.
  • Report metrics to management to support global compliance performance. 
  • Organize, facilitate, and report on meetings with internal and external peers. 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in risk management, Business Studies, Compliance & Security studies or Computer Science, or similar fields and 3+ years of equivalent practical experience.
  • OR 5+ years of equivalent practical experience.
  • Highly skilled with SQL and Power BI.
  • Ability to think outside of the box and to work in a fast paced, dynamic global environment. 
  • Highly self-motivated and directed professional with keen attention to detail. 
  • Ability to prioritize, manage projects to drive results, and follow-up are essential. 
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to represent the Compliance function and to effectively work with stakeholders to improve processes and relationships. 
  • Experience running current state compliance assessments and highlighting business impact and recommendations. 
  • Aptitude for risk management and the ability to test set controls within the business. 
  • Must have an interest in analytical, systematic work duties. 

The base salary range for this position in California or NYC is $100,000-$125,000 per year. Exact compensation offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This information is provided per California SB 1162 and the NYC Wage Transparency Law.

    • The base salary range for this position in Washington is $100000-$125000 per year. Exact compensation offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
