ClearScore is searching for a talented Data Analyst. You will work in a team which is responsible for building, deploying, monitoring and maintaining multiple versions of our proprietary open banking categorisation service. This is a core service which will impact over a million users in the UK, and supports lending partners to make credit decisions. The successful candidate will be focused on analysing and categorising one of the largest open banking datasets in the world.

Analysts play a key role within ClearScore, driving strategy and key decision-making, which ultimately benefits our users, partners, and other teams within the business. ClearScore has an amazing analytical community which includes Data Analysts, Scientists and Engineers. The community works collaboratively to ensure a landscape in which team members can develop their full potential and deliver maximum business impact.

In your first 6 months, you will:

  • Discover opportunities to improve our categorisation service by utilising our data platform, DataBricks, and our MySQL knowledge base
  • Analyse the largest open banking data set in the UK to understand the purpose of the spend
  • Maintaining, and extending our ability to correctly identify where bank transactions took place and how to categorise these
  • Utilise, and improve a number of proprietary applications for data decisioning
  • Work with product managers, designers, and a diverse data team to identify priorities

Requirements

  • You must know SQL, ideally Python. If Python is new or a bit rusty we’re happy for you to learn the other on the job - we have all the resources and support available in case you are willing to learn.
  • Able to understand that the work you do has a wider impact across the company and are able to converse about what you do to people who aren’t necessarily part of the data or technology division.
  • Aptitude and passion for statistics/mathematics: the majority of our analysts have good degrees in STEM subjects or Economics; however, we are looking for aptitude rather than education
  • You have a desire to learn and enjoy working collaboratively, with a desire to contribute to our culture.
  • You do not need to fit into a stereotype: we are really committed to closing our gender gap and are actively trying to create an environment where you, as an individual, can thrive.
