Nokia Standards

Nokia Standards drives technology leadership by developing and bringing innovative concepts to industry and standards organizations. We shape ecosystems to ensure an inventor friendly industry environment favorable to Nokia’s business success, and drive Nokia’s intellectual property rights portfolio and standards leadership.

As Data Engineer / Data Architect, you will be an integral part of the Nokia Standards AI & Data practice, applying the latest advances in data science and engineering to put data “at the center” of 6G networks. You will join a high-performance global team committed to driving continuous improvement and world-class innovation in networking research. Your mission will focus on conceiving and building next-generation data platforms enabling cutting-edge network research. You will be instrumental in creating a strong link between concepts and implementations, disseminating best practices and data-driven research as core discipline across the organization.

What you will learn and contribute to 

  • Shape the future of communication networks by demonstrating innovative solutions enabled by modern data architectures
  • Architect and develop next-generation data platforms and solve network automation use cases
  • Apply and expand your knowledge by identifying and developing new approaches for network digital twins, network sensing, AI/ML for networks
  • Contribute to future networks and 6G in world leading standardization organizations like IETF, ETSI, 3GPP, leading open-source projects (Linux Foundation Networking), hackathons, etc.

 

Your skills and experience 

You have:

  • A master’s degree (or higher) in computer science, artificial intelligence, telecommunications, or a related field
  • Three or more years of experience in engineering or applied research, in industry or academia
  • Strong understanding of data architecture principles and best practices, and establishing data governance frameworks
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, database design, and data integration techniques
  • Hands-on experience with designing data handling architecture (data warehouse, data lake, data mesh…)
  • Practical knowledge of tools and products for such systems: message brokers, processing systems (Hadoop, Spark and state-of-the-art package solutions such as Databricks)
  • Knowledge of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and data governance principles
  • Strong understanding of data privacy and security aspects, including data encryption, access controls, and compliance regulations
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms, cloud-based data storage and data pipelines
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages (Python…)

It would be nice if you also had:

  • Good level of proficiency in system and software engineering
  • Knowledge, know-how in synthetic data generation techniques
  • Knowledge, know-how in data quality frameworks and data quality assessment
  • Knowledge on graph modeling, graph databases and technologies, semantic graphs
  • Knowledge of network telemetry techniques and data collection protocols
  • Observability frameworks and tools
  • Knowledge of standards specifications and practices from different standardization bodies

You are autonomous, proactive, and collaborative. You like to solve complex problems with elegant solutions using your ingenuity and teamwork.
