Data Product Manager

As MISO’s Data Product Manager, you’ll facilitate and lead the planning and management of our data-driven products. You will be responsible for developing a Data & Analytics strategic product roadmap that enables the team to deliver on MISO enterprise objectives, build new advanced analytics capabilities, and help evolve MISO’s data platform. To be success in this role, you’ll need to have a strong background in data strategy, product management, program management, and the ability to understand MISO’s business outcomes and objectives.
Some of the Data Product Manager responsibilities include:
- Facilitating the definition of a product vision and developing a roadmap for data-driven products, aligning with company goals and objectives.
- Working closely with the business to understand their needs while connecting them to common themes and problems.
- Collaborating with stakeholders including strategy, portfolios, project management office, customer experience, and subject matter experts to gather the necessary requirements and define data product specifications.
- Staying current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data and analytics domain.
- Understanding of current and future data & analytics capabilities, products, and platform features.
- Leading coordination between Architecture, Analytics and Engineering capabilities to help provide the business with the most optimal solution options.
- Leading the data product development process from concept to launch, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and feature prioritization.
- Defining and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and Key Result Indicators (KRIs) to measure the success of data products and iterate based on feedback and insights.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration and communication to ensure alignment and execution across teams.
To be a successful Data Product Manager, we’re looking for the following skills/experiences:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related field, (or 4 years relevant work experience equivalency).
- Demonstrated ability to create and deliver on multi-year strategic roadmaps leading teams to deliver on strategic objectives.
- Experience/familiarity with Azure Platform and modern data/cloud platforms.
- Deep understanding of data technologies, including databases, data warehousing, and big data platforms.
- Familiarity with data science concepts and techniques, such as machine learning, predictive modeling, and natural language processing.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and deliver results.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Product development experience with both an agile solutions and vendor solutions what reflect deep understanding of the product development lifecycle.
Appropriate level will be determined based upon experience and knowledge.
