ABOUT THE ROLEAs a Machine Vision Engineer on the Software Controls Team at Bright Machines, you will be one of the key hands-on contributors to inventing, testing and hardening algorithms and software that differentiate Bright Machines from its competitors and enable software defined manufacturing.You will help validate and improve novel solutions to unsolved problems in industrial automation. You will function as an engineer touching every part of the electro-mechanical system and help to map out the path to improving our technologies. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Design, develop, execute, test and improve state-of-the-art machine vision applications
- Work with other team members to evaluate technical feasibility, design strategies, and prototype new technologies
- Work in a modified agile environment to deliver high quality results against aggressive schedules
- Help define and implement standards and promote best practices
WHAT WE WANT TO SEE
- BS in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Computer, or Industrial Engineering
- 2-4 years of industry experience
- Deep understanding of camera technologies
- Applied understanding of lens technologies and strategies
- Pragmatic understanding of illumination technologies and strategies
- Ability to create a scene that maximizes the contrast of targeted features
- Experience with 2D vision algorithms and geometric processing
IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAD
- Vision systems for robust industrial automation equipment
- Experience with 3D vision algorithms and geometric processing
- Machine learning using CNNs for machine/computer vision for classification
- Industry experience working with robotic systems
- Experience with vision guided robotics by transformations or real-time offsets
- Experience programming robots, e.g. Kuka, Fanuc, UR, etc.
