Duke Health is actively recruiting a seasoned and highly skill ed Azure Cloud Data Architect with a strong background in the healthcare industry to join our team. As an Azure Cloud Data Architect, you will p lay a key role in designing and implementing secure, scalable, and effic ient data solutions on the Azure cloud platform, tailored to the specifi c needs and challenges of healthcare organizations. Your expertise in Az ure technologies and your understanding of healthcare data standards and regulations will be instrumental in driving the success of our projects .

 

Key Responsibilities:

Azure Data Architecture Design: Design and architect end-to- end data solutions on the Azure cloud platform, including data lakes, da ta warehouses, and real-time data processing pipelines, to meet the uniq ue requirements of healthcare organizations.

 

D ata Modeling: Develop and maintain robust data models that supp ort the organization's healthcare data needs, ensuring data accuracy, co nsistency, and integrity.

 

Azure Platform Exper tise: Leverage your expertise in Azure services such as Azure S QL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Data bricks to architect scalable and cost-effective data solutions.

 

Security and Compliance: Implement strong sec urity measures and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA to protect sensitive patient data stored in Azure.

 

Data Governance: Establish data governanceframewor ks and best practices to ensure data quality, privacy, and regulatory co mpliance across the organization's Azure data solutions.

 

Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functi onal teams including data engineers, software developers, and business a nalysts to understand requirements and deliver comprehensive Azure data solutions.

 

Performance Optimization: Identify and implement performance optimization strategies to enhance da ta storage, processing, and retrieval performance on the Azure platform.

 

Documentationand Training: Document architectural designs, data flows, and processes, and provide training and guidance to internal teams on Azure best practices and new technolog ies.

  

 

 

Qualifications:

Education/Training:  Bachelor's degree in a relate d field, or four years of equivalent technical experience required. Mast er’s Degree preferred.

 

Experi ence:  Seven years of directly related experience< /p>

 

Relevant certifications: such as Micr osoft Certified; Azure Solutions Architect Expert preferred.

 

Key Skills:

Azu re Services: Proficiency in Azure services relevant to data arc hitecture, such as Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Da ta Factory, and Azure Databricks.

 

Healthcare D omain Knowledge: Strong understanding of healthcare data standa rds (e.g., HL7, FHIR), regulations (e.g., HIPAA), and industry trends.

 

Data Modeling: Experience in developin g and maintaining data models to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity.

 

Security and Compliance: K nowledge of security best practices and compliance requirements for hand ling sensitive healthcare data in Azure.

 

Colla boration: Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functio nal teams to understand requirements and deliver comprehensive data solu tions.

 

Problem-Solving: Excellent ana lytical and problem-solving skills to address complex data architecture challenges.

 

Communication: Strong ver bal and written communication skills to effectively document designs, co mmunicate with stakeholders, and providetraining to internal teams.
