Summary

An ACE Data Scientist will act as an internal consultant for various groups at SRP, creating reusable data science work products in SRP's data science platform. This role involves analyzing large and complex datasets to improve business outcomes. The job will include working with internal customers to understand requirements, exploring and preparing data, building models, analyzing results, visualizing findings, and ensuring customers have the needed final products. Techniques used may cover advanced statistics, algorithm development, predictive modeling, or pattern recognition.

As an internal consultant role, this also includes working with multiple user groups to share best practices, tips and tricks for general data science work, and specifically consulting on creating data science work products using an enterprise data science platform.

What You'll Do

  • Work with business partners as an internal consultant, understanding needs and planning data science work products that will deliver solutions.
  • Transform raw data into actionable insights, analyzing and preparing data for meaningful analysis.
  • Build models that predict and prescribe solutions, using advanced algorithms, mathematical techniques, and statistics.
  • Apply sophisticated statistical methods to solve problems, including data transformations, ANOVA, regression, time-series modeling, clustering, and more.
  • Use data science tools including SQL, Python, R, and Dataiku to uncover insights and drive success.
  • Create and oversee data models in production, ensuring they can deliver long-term value.
  • Explore and innovate by piloting new ideas and evaluating emerging technologies.
  • Champion data science within SRP, providing key training and support across various teams.
  • Share discoveries through engaging presentations, comprehensive documentation, and interactive visualizations.

 

Experience

Promotion to Level 2 requires a minimum of two years experience at Level 1 and demonstrated capability to perform advanced and more difficult work as determined by the supervisor. Promotion to Senior Level requires a minimum of 3 years experience at Level 2, is fully competent in all aspects of functional area of assignment and as such would be recognized as a specialist in area of assignment and may have periodic or occasional lead responsibilities.

Education

Completion of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution that prepares the employee for the assignment.

 

Hybrid Workplace

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona. We are taking steps to protect the health and well-being of all team members, and by following a number of health and safety protocols, to reduce the risk of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
