ActiGraph is an international leader in the development of validated medical-grade wearable solutions used to measure physical activity, sleep, and behavior patterns in the broader global academic and pharma research communities.

ActiGraph is looking for a Data Science Intern who is passionate about using data science to advance clinical research and improve health. The team you will join is responsible for developing and validating new digital clinical measures using time-series data collected using wearable digital health technologies (DHTs). In this role, you will support the analytical validation of digital measures, data processing pipelines, conduct data analytics and interpretation of the digital measures. You will be assigned datasets in movement or sleep domain and you will work under the supervision of senior data scientists to build the analysis pipelines and subsequent statistical comparisons.

The essential duties and responsibilities for this role include:

  • Strong interest in data science, statistics, signal processing, and machine learning
  • Ability to code in Python using relevant computational packages (Numpy, Pandas, Matplotlib, Scikit-Learn and TensorFlow)
  • Previous research experience in movement analysis or sleep is a plus
  • Familiarity with version control tools such as Git is a plus
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills to convey results with team members, colleagues, external experts, and regulatory authorities.
  • Any other duties as necessary for the position

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • B.S. in engineering or health-related field
  • Currently enrolled in Masters or Doctoral program in mathematics, computer science, electrical or biomedical engineering

Benefits

This position is a part-time, paid position but is not benefits eligible.
