Opportunity

As our Senior Data & AI editor, you will be our public voice for all of Airbyte’s written content. Articles will be written by yourself, our team and our writer community. You will be responsible for refining our data and AI narrative, overseeing the creation and distribution of technical content. You’ll also establish close relationships with our engineering team to support them in creating in-depth and engaging engineering content for our audience.  

This role requires the ability to think high-level and long-term while also being able to key in on the details.

 What You'll Do

• Develop, implement, and oversee the editorial strategy for data and AI related content, including Airbyte’s blog, tutorials, quickstarts, and data engineering resources.
• Lead our writer community program to create more thought leadership and technical content for our audience. This includes managing the community of writers in addition to reviewing candidates and their articles, overseeing their distributions, and ensuring their contributions get recognition.  
• Lead the technical content theme on reliability:  Collaborate closely with our engineering team to cover all our reliability-focused releases. Position Airbyte as the biggest thought leader on that topic.
• Review and edit content produced by the engineering team and our content agency, ensuring high standards of data accuracy and relevance.
• Manage the content lifecycle from concept through publication, leveraging data analytics to improve content effectiveness and reach. This includes overseeing distribution and co-marketing (when applicable) of all the content produced.
• Stay abreast of industry trends in data and AI to guide the editorial calendar and content themes.

What You'll Need

• 3 years of experience in data engineering
• Experience and strong interest in writing thought leadership articles, tutorials and demos. 
• Working knowledge of data platforms and developer tools like dbt, Snowflake, BigQuery, Airflow, or other data tools
• Strong interest in everything AI and LLMs.  
• Adept at communicating technically complicated topics simply and elegantly.
• Experience of working within cross-functional teams (product, engineering, support, customer success, etc).
• Maintain a strong and credible presence in online platforms and social media channels relevant to developers.
• Ability to manage and collaborate with external contributors. 
• Able to multitask and meet time-sensitive goals.

Location

• San Francisco Bay Area.  Hybrid, twice per week in office.

Salary for this job- $140,000- $185,000 +  a generous equity package, and benefits listed above for US Market.
