AI Software Engineer Senior (Back End) (TS/SCI with Poly Required)

At GCI, we solve the hard problems.  As a Software Engineer, a typical day will include the following duties:

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The ideal candidate has experience integrating AI models in existing software systems. This team member will be responsible for support of a larger forensic application and a number of supporting products.  This person should be comfortable working in a cloud environment.  They must be at ease working in an agile environment with little supervision. This person should embody a passion for continuous improvement and innovation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.

  2. 5+ years of related software development experience.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

  1. Proficiency in frameworks similar to Ray for distributed computing and AI model deployment
  2. Strong programming skills in languages such as Node.js or Python.
  3. Experience with automation frameworks such as Ansible and infrastructure as code tools like AWS Cloud Formation
  4. Solid understanding of cloud computing platforms, particularly AWS
  5. Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes is a plus
  6. Familiarity with Linux operating systems
  7. Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
  8. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  9. Strong communication and collaboration abilities

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

  1. Hands-on experience with monitoring tools such as ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana).
  2. Hands-on experience working with Elastic Search, MongoDB




KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Evaluate and deploy AI algorithms to production environments using frameworks similar to Ray, optimizing for scalability and performance.
  2. Collaborate closely with engineers and data scientists to integrate AI models seamlessly into existing software systems.
  3. Optimize AI model deployment processes for scalability, reliability and performance.
  4. Ensure security and compliance standards are met throughout the deployment process
  5. Provide ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements in existing systems and platforms.
  6. Troubleshoots complex problems and provides customer support for software systems and application issues.
  7. Provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  8. Work alongside other engineers on the team to sustain and advance our organization’s capabilities.
