We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our Data team, located either in Greece or Cyprus. Job Summary

The Data Team is responsible for the company’s Data Infrastructure and overall Data Strategy. As a company we are committed to continuous innovation and growth. The Data Team is responsible for supporting the company’s increasing data needs. The backbone of the Data Team are the Data Engineers. They are responsible for maintaining Data Stores, creating Data Pipelines, and performing Data Integration. The Data Engineer we are looking for should be able to demonstrate solid experience in the field and have knowledge of the latest technologies. Problem solving and analytical skills would be a great advantage.

What you will be doing

  • Data Pipelines: Implement and maintain processes to pull data from various sources and store them in our data lakehouse.
  • Data Validation and Curation: Verify that data conforms to strict validation checks and is stored in an organized manner.
  • Data Transformation and Integration: Implement processes to transform and integrate data to create business-level aggregates and machine learning input features.
  • Streaming data: Handle real-time streaming data to serve real-time applications.
  • Monitoring: Check the status and health of data pipelines making sure they do not fail.
  • Infrastructure Management: Manage and maintain infrastructure resources, including various data storage solutions and data pipeline technologies.
  • Documentation: Writing short and comprehensive documentation so others in the team can understand what has been done.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
  • 5+ years of proven experience as a Data Engineer.
  • Proficiency in Python.
  • Very strong skills in SQL and able to work with complex SQL queries.
  • Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases (MariaDB, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
  • Experience in designing ETL processes for data ingestion and integration.
  • Experience with Git.
  • Experience with Data Warehouse and Data Lake solutions, including data modeling and schema design.

Would be an advantage to have:

  • Hands-on experience with PySpark and Spark SQL.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with AWS services.
  • Familiarity with Databricks.
  • Familiarity with StarRocks and Clickhouse.
  • Familiarity with Apache Kafka.
  • Data Analytics and Machine Learning knowledge.
