WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Lead cross-functional projects using advanced data modeling and analysis techniques to discover insights that will guide strategic decisions and uncover optimization opportunities.
  • Recruit, train, develop and supervise analyst-level employees.
  • Ensure accuracy of data and deliverables of reporting employees with comprehensive policies and processes.
  • Examine, interpret, and report results of analytical initiatives to stakeholders in leadership, technology, sales, marketing, and product teams.
  • Oversee the data/report requests process: tracking requests submitted, prioritization, approval, etc.
  • Anticipate future demands of initiatives related to people, technology, budget and business within your department and design/implement solutions to meet these needs.
  • Develop best practices for Data Engineering including use of ETL, Automated Testing, Code Repositories, Data Architecture, Data Modeling, Documentation, and Azure Export.
  • Oversee integration from 3rd party data sets outside of Blu Dot; build data foundation to enable Blu Dot to become data centric.
  • Maintain and enhance the company's data science toolkit including Alteryx and Tableau and open-source technologies such as R and Python.
  • Aggregate Blu Dot's disparate data sources into internal Data Warehouse.
  • Write sophisticated SQL queries to extract data from company's ERP (MS Dynamics GP) and build complex models or workflows.
  • Visualize (dashboards, charts, infographics), analyze, and provide analytics to build insights to advance the business.
  • Take un-analyzed data and transform it into rich, visual storytelling.
  • Partner with business teams to improve the quality of existing data and bring additional data sources in line and automate manual processes.

IDEAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS*:

  • Master's degree in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics or Math.
  • 3 years of experience in analytics as a data analyst, data engineer or data scientist.
  • Must have 3 years of experience in the following:
  • Data Modeling and Data Architecture.
  • Visual tools including Tableau, Alteryx.
  • Open source coding, including R and Python.
  • Automation of manual processes.
  • Position is based out of Minneapolis, MN headquarters with a flexible working environment/schedule (up to 2 days remote)
