Your Mission 

As an Associate Chief Technology Officer at SADA, you are a focused partner and accelerator for the CTO and represent SADA as a technology forerunner and expert. You design new avenues of opportunity and lead CTO Office initiatives and strategy in a specific domain, as effectively the top expert in the business for Data Science. As a technology subject matter expert, you will work with customers, engineering teams, product teams, Googlers, sales teams, and the broader technical community to increase SADA’s opportunity to create material value with Google Cloud and GCP partner technologies. You will identify and develop new solutions for customers on GCP. You’re hands-on and passionate about the further development of tech and are able to conduct experiments and build functioning prototypes that prove out ideas and build confidence in the solutions. 

Pathway to Success 

Your super-power will be in helping enterprise customers understand specifically how Google Cloud technology can fundamentally solve their technical challenges and enable their future success. You will be a trusted advisor to complex customers, helping to guide their teams, from the C-Suite on down. You will use your deep understanding of leadership, technology, finance, and operations to instill confidence in each customer as they make a long-term commitment with SADA.

You have deep expertise and understanding of Data Science. You are well known among your peers and customers for being a leading expert. You’ve spoken publicly in your area of expertise, as well as having written on the subject. You have deep knowledge and understanding of different partners and companies working in Data Science. You have experience and take passion in mentoring your peers in your field of expertise. You have done significant deployments of some, if not many, of the tools available, both closed and open source. You will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and analysts on a wide range of problems. This position will bring scientific rigor and statistical methods to the challenges of service product creation, development, and improvement.

You have demonstrated repeated advanced delivery of enterprise project architectures, including architectures that cannot be delivered by less experienced architects. You will spearhead early-stage opportunity technical qualification calls, as well as run client-facing technical discussions. You will be way out in front of our delivery organization, meeting with the full spectrum of enterprise customers that need our consultative services. You will have your finger on the pulse of their technical needs and work together to solve their real-world problems on Google Cloud.

You will be measured throughout the year by the number of high-profile commitments and engagements you enable for the sales organization and alliance partnership programs and (b) the level of customer satisfaction measured at many points throughout the lifespan of a deal.

Expectations

Required Travel - 30% travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, travel has been temporarily reduced.

Customer Facing - This is a customer-facing and associate executive facing role. You will interact with customers at every business level on a daily basis. You will participate on calls and onsite customer meetings to qualify consultative engagements with engineering and business teams. You will present solutions, architectures, demos, and other technical materials to build trust and confidence in SADA’s ability to guide the customer through their cloud adoption. 

Training - Ongoing and never ending, with first week orientation at HQ followed by a 90 day onboarding schedule. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, travel has been temporarily restricted.

Job Requirements

Required Credentials:

• Google Professional Cloud Architect Certified and/or Google Professional Data Engineer Certified, or able to complete one of the above within the first 45 days of employment. 

Required Qualifications: 

• Technology
• Mastery in Data Science engineering
• Experience with statistical software (e.g., R, Python, MATLAB, pandas) and database languages (e.g., SQL)
• Research and develop analysis, forecasting, and optimization methods to improve the quality of SADA’s service products and professional services.
• People
• Experience as a technical consultant or another customer-facing role.
• Experience communicating technical concepts to non-technical executive audiences
• Experience working with technical customer executives
• Ability to communicate across business units and the ability to interface with and communicate complex technical concepts to a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
• Interact cross-functionally, making business recommendations (e.g., cost-benefit, forecasting, experiment analysis) with effective presentations of findings at multiple levels of stakeholders through visual displays of quantitative information.
• Ability to offer further mentorship for engineers in your field of expertise.
• Carry yourself as an extension of the executive team and stand in as executive representation externally to customers. 
• Implementation
• Experience representing company initiatives and presenting at industry conferences.
• Experience writing and publishing deeply technical articles in your field of expertise.
• Ability to produce case studies, blog posts, and similar types of collateral for marketing engagement.
• Experience in a customer-facing role, being able to navigate technical conversations with all engineering levels. 

Useful Qualifications:

• PhD degree in a quantitative discipline.
• 4 or more years of relevant work experience, including expertise with statistical data analysis such as linear models, multivariate analysis, stochastic models, sampling methods.
• Applied experience with machine learning on large datasets.
• Experience articulating and translating business questions and using statistical techniques to arrive at an answer using available data.
• Strong aptitude for learning new technologies and techniques with a willingness and capability to skill up the team.
• Experience building, designing, and migrating complex cloud architectures across more than one cloud platform: GCP, AWS, Azure, Oracle, or others.
• Certifications and experience on other public cloud providers.
• Highly self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Deep understanding of best practices, design patterns, reference and compliance architectures with an uncanny ability to build and recommend these as needed.
• Knowledge and understanding of industry trends, new technologies and the ability to apply these to customer architectures to drive outcomes.
