Within R&D IT Solutions, the Product Creation Applications (PCA) department is responsible for providing and supporting the R&D design community globally with best-in-class applications and support. The applications are used by over 6,000 designers.
Job summary
This is for the position of a Lead Engineer who will have responsibilities for technical architecture, solutioning, developing and administrating applications used for HW Design data management. These applications include tools used for HW design workspace management, configuration management and publishing tools. The candidate would oversee the technical aspects of these applications by making architectural and design decisions, guiding team members in technical matters, and supervising change execution. The candidate should have relevant required technical experience, ability to grasp business context and be able to technically lead the team. The candidate for this position will be required to demonstrate flexible and proactive/self-motivated working style with strong personal ownership of problem resolution.

Primary responsibilities:
The DDM DesignSync Lead Engineer would
- Align with the NXP design community on functionality and configuration of applications for design data management and configuration management.
- Work with the architect on roadmap/ecosystem, solution foundation and solution design documents.
- Translate the business requirements into new solutions for the configuration management platform.
- Collaborate across DevOps teams on requirements from DevOps teams on best automation solutions.
- Guide and leads team of developers to develop and deploys new solutions.
- Works with Business Analysts on technical roadmaps, projects and changes.
- Identify and drive opportunities for automation within R&D IT applications workflows/ processes.
- Contribute to the support of the R&D IT applications (documentation writing and Tier2/3 level support to users).
Job qualifications
- University degree (BE/ BTech), or equivalent, in Computer Science.
- 10 to 12 years of experience in the domain of design data management and configuration management.
- Knowledge of Data Configuration Management systems, and work experience with DesignSync administration.
- Understanding of web/ data security and experience in building/ configuring systems protecting sensitive data.
- Strong Linux command line and shell scripting skills, good background in automation
- Command on one or more of perl / python programming languages.
- Working knowledge/ understanding of setting up/ managing applications on AWS is a must have.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and logical skills
- Conceptual ITIL knowledge with understanding of agile development frameworks (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban)
- Must possess excellent English communication skills, both oral and written
- Used to working in an international environment.
