As a Data Use governance specialist in the office of the Chief Data Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that data use submissions are managed in accordance with applicable JPMC governing policies, standard and procedures. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with data use owners and decisionmakers across the organisation, reviewing and prioritizing the use cases, and driving movement on projects across the data use case lifecycle. In addition, you will also work with process owners, data owners, and application owners to facilitate their data use journey and lifecycle, implement and track associated controls and metrics, and ensure accuracy, completeness and timeliness of data use case submissions and reviews.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide consistent guidance to ensure data across the organisation is collected, classified, processed, stored, used, and shared in alignment with internal standards, as well as external obligations.
  • Govern data use case submission and review lifecycle as per policy, standard, and procedures, ensuring all process and timeliness requirements are met.
  • Perform impact analysis, prioritization and triage of submitted data use cases, and ensure all necessary details are documented.
  • Collaborate with data use submitters, process, data, and application owners to identify new use cases, gaps in the current inventory, and design case specific controls that should be implemented to minimise data use risk, and ensure completeness of record.
  • Monitor the existing use case inventory for completeness of outstanding action points, conditions and adherence to agreed limitations and tollgates. 
  • Conduct regulatory change impact analysis when required, and take a proactive role in remediating any issues.
  • Monitor data use records and inventory risk metrics, prepare monthly reports, and report concerns to the data governance council.
  • Collaborate with other lines of business on cross line of business projects, represent ICB in firmwide functions when required.

 

Must Haves

  • Experience in data use case management lifecycle.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Prior experience in working in Office of the CDO in BFSI industry.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships, influence stakeholders, educate, and champion data governance excellence and data use principles across the organisation.
  • Ability to conduct risk assessment related to data use, identifying risks, concerns, bottlenecks, and mitigating actions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to articulate risks, issues and actions concisely for CXOs.

Nice to Haves

  • Knowledge of Data Governance, Data Protection, Retention and Destruction, Data Quality, and Data Storage.
  • Experience with AWS, SQL, Python.
  • Experience in process design.
  • Understanding of Privacy laws and regulations.
  • Understanding of AI/ML.
