Our Business Intelligence teams work as trusted advisors to leading Fortune 500 companies, financial institutions, private market investors and law firms across the region. We help our clients understand and manage a variety of business risks, enabling them to succeed in complex environments. Your work as a member of the team will include evaluating potential local partners and investments, mapping out sources of reputational and integrity risk and conducting investigations to help our clients respond to internal and external threats to their operations, including helping to resolve disputes.
Consultants are responsible for producing clear, analytical and exceptionally well-written reports that effectively communicate findings to clients. They achieve this by combining information obtained through OSINT research with information obtained from interviews and their own analysis.
Role tasks and responsibilities
Project work
- Act as Project Leader for due diligence projects:
- Take ownership of multiple projects at any one time
- Actively research and develop report findings
- Provide analysis and structure to reports
- Manage all aspects of project administration
- Produce high-quality reports, including incorporating human intelligence into reports, conveying complex information in a confident, persuasive and accessible manner, and producing analysis that goes beyond stage 1 analysis to stage 2 (“so what?”) and helps clients to resolve uncertainty and make decisions
- Support Client Managers by preparing and presenting to clients elements in a larger investigation as part of the project team
- Work proactively with subcontractors to generate insightful intelligence, demonstrating strong briefing and debriefing skills
Marketing, business development and other activities
- Draft and price proposals for due diligence under the guidance of a more experienced colleague, demonstrating that consideration is given to understanding the context and purpose of the client’s request and the ability to draft an appropriately tailored scope and methodology
- Contribute to marketing and profile-raising events
- Identify new subcontractors by researching sectors/jurisdictions and take responsibility for vetting and testing new subcontractors, with support as appropriate from more senior colleagues
- Seek opportunities to develop projects and business generally, in conjunction with more senior colleagues
- Seek opportunities to be involved in product development with more senior colleagues
- Produce thought leadership to support marketing and the sales process
Requirements
Essential
- Excellent command of English language and fluency in Korean language.
- Professional experience in consulting / financial services / journalism / government / research-driven roles where the below skills can be evidenced in a work environment
- Substantial knowledge of Word and PowerPoint
- Proficient in conducting independent OSINT and public record research
- Excellent ability to analyse and interpret research findings
- General knowledge and deep understanding of political and business trends in Korea.
- Proven ability to multi-task and handle stressful situations
- Ability to work well with others in a team
- Strong work ethic
Preferred
- Strong ability to process complex legal documents and navigate listed company disclosures
- Experience of or exposure to ESG due diligence
- Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)
