Senior Data Scientist, Analytics - Ecosystem

The mission of our newly formed Ecosystem team is to support Reddit’s strategy through the independent evaluation of new initiatives & by being the source of truth of company-level product performance metrics. We are looking for a Staff Data Scientist who would like to join our organization and help build our Ecosystem vertical. How You’ll Have Impact:
You will be the eyes and brain behind getting a foundational understanding of how Reddit works, and the expected impact of various different strategic initiatives. You will steer Reddit’s strategy and guide the company’s investment so we can fulfill our mission of bringing a sense of community and belonging to everybody in the world.
What You’ll Learn:
- You will be exposed to the ins and outs of everything that is happening at Reddit, and as a result will learn about every single strategic area that is being created
- You will work directly with senior leadership and every Data Science team embedded across the organization
What You’ll Do:
- Lead the definition and reporting of Reddit’s core product metrics across all levels of leadership, including Reddit executives
- Define KPIs and make them easily available through ETLs (extract/transform/load) and reporting dashboards
- Generate data-driven insights, analytical frameworks, metrics strategy and data models to evaluate product/company performance and guide strategic decisions
- Collaborate with your peers across Data Science and Data Platform to guide an overarching data strategy for Reddit, including a plan for robust data validation and data quality
- Establish yourself as a leader and mentor within the broader Data organization
Who You Might Be:
- 4-6 years of experience in Data Science or Analytics function in a tech consumer company
- Proficiency with relational database (e.g., SQL) and statistical analysis/programming languages (e.g., R / Python)
- Experience writing ETLs
- Experience creating and owning reports in visualization tools (Mode, Tableau, Looker, Power BI, etc)
- Experience with product metrics across different areas, including new metrics definition
- Demonstrated ability to take ambiguous problems and solve them in a structured, hypothesis-driven, data-supported way.
- Experience working with senior cross-functional stakeholders (Director+)
- Bonus Points: Experience working with Finance and/or Corporate Strategy teams
