Job Summary

Bird is looking for a driven, entrepreneurial, results-oriented Data Analyst to join our People team. In this role you will be partnering with our recruiting, strategy and partners, operations and technology, and total rewards teams to help lead the development of new people analytics and insights.  In addition to that you will be working to create and maintain internal procedures that help enhance our human capital data capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Work with various people teams to create end-to-end employee lifecycle analytics and insights.
  • Develop the ability to write ETLs to make people data consumable to our people teams and executive stakeholders
  • Own the design, development, validation, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, experiments, and related roadmaps, etc. to drive key people decisions
  • Conduct hands-on modeling/analytics retrieving, compiling, and analyzing large volumes of data from disparate databases into distilled, actionable information and insights
  • Collaborate with various departments to deliver on key projects. This will include data provisioning, exploratory data analysis, data visualization and in some instances, statistical modeling
  • Champion the analytics process – from business understanding, data understanding, data preparation, data modeling, evaluation, and deployment; lead by example and by training business stakeholders with varying technical and non-technical backgrounds

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, economics, or finance from a competitive school
  • Proficiency with SQL, and experience or familiarity with one additional scripting language
  • 2+ years of experience using data to facilitate business decisions at a high growth technology (start-up), strategy, consulting, business intelligence, investment banking/private equity or other related industry

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Comfort with or willingness to learn key human resources concepts 
  • Strong background in, or comfort with, statistical or financial concepts
  • Ability to develop and manage an experimentation roadmap
  • Steadfast focus on the details, while keeping strategic priorities top-of-mind
  • Responsible, reliable and entrepreneurial. Working remote can be challenging, we need you to be independent, self-motivated and able to complete tasks without much supervision.
