CommSec Data and Insights Centre of Excellence (COE) is a central Data and Analytics function under the Pace model that supports the delivery of Data and Analytics offerings and services. Our COE’s mission is to provide trusted data, capabilities, and actionable insights in partnership with our stakeholders to drive customer experience, empower decision making and safeguard our data.  ​

As part of the Insights and Decision Science Chapter we are responsible for CommSec’s Insights and Analytics functions. We support the strategic decision-making process of the business by way of regular reporting, ad hoc analysis, customer insights and data science models.

We are also responsible for providing integrated online and offline behavioural insights including building analytics frameworks that assess and drive customer engagement, building advanced analytics solutions and tools to help optimise resources, improve its processes whilst minimising risk.

In this role

You will be supporting the CommSec product suite and the CommSec risk area. You will be assisting the Product, Digital and Risk team with frequent analysis and deep dives, as well as assisting Product Managers with defining and communicating customer-centric product strategy.

On a day-to-day basis, you’ll:

• Monitoring and supporting continuous performance, risk, controls, and reviews by providing data analysis, insights, and reporting across the portfolio

• Providing insights and optimising the Risk Dashboards for monitoring risk and controls

• Delivering and supporting projects and initiatives including process improvements, remediations, regulatory changes, customer acquisition, product enhancements

• Ensuring Tableau and Alteryx servers run on schedule for continuous business reporting activities and creating new schedules for new business reporting requirements

• Enhancing and visualising collected data into actionable insights for the business

• Conducting analysis and segmentation to guide consumer dialogues whilst uncovering opportunities

• Producing accurate work with reliable results whilst meeting tight deadlines by planning and prioritising workflow

• Supporting the development of your fellow team members in their data and analytics journey

• Have good experience in the financial services industry with experience in the stockbroking industry is advantageous

• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to develop relationships and influence stakeholders

• Commercially astute with strong analytical skills, attention to detail and.

• Established experience and ability to work with large and complex data sets with Excel, Tableau, Alteryx and SQL preferably Microsoft SQL Server, Teradata

• Demonstrated delivering on multiple activities (BAU, projects and initiatives) against competing priorities

• Experience with other languages such as Python or SAS, or tools such as Power BI is well regarded.

• Experience with administration of BI Servers such as Tableau or Alteryx
