Position Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Analyst to join the Hometrack Analytics team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the business by collaborating closely with our front office team and the clients themselves, particularly large UK mortgage lenders. The candidate’s primary responsibilities will involve producing and presenting insights relating to the automation of property valuation and risk decisions, and analysing the property market and lender mortgage books to understand change and consider the impacts of emerging risks. They will be comfortable analysing large and complex datasets, and working cross-functionally with our product development and front office teams.

Responsibilities

Client Collaboration:

  • Engage closely with large UK lenders and other clients to understand their challenges in the areas of valuation and risk.
  • Provide support to clients with technical optimisation challenges surrounding risk exposure and automation, tailoring solutions to meet their specific needs.

Data Analysis:

  • Conduct in-depth analyses using complex and varied datasets to derive actionable insights for clients, employing advanced techniques and methodologies where appropriate
  • Utilise SQL, Excel, and Python proficiently to extract, manipulate, and analyse data, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the analytical process.
  • Employ relevant visualisation techniques to effectively communicate findings to key stakeholders, facilitating informed decision-making.
  • Independently formulate and test hypotheses, developing data-driven solutions to address client requirements.

Reporting and Presentation:

  • Generate comprehensive reports summarising analysis findings and offering strategic recommendations, leveraging insights to drive client success.
  • Deliver presentations to clients in a clear and concise manner, ensuring comprehension and alignment with proposed strategies.

Collaboration with Product Teams:

  • Collaborate closely with Hometrack product teams to refine existing products and innovate new solutions, integrating data-driven insights into product enhancement initiatives.
  • Offer valuable input to support product improvement endeavours, leveraging analytical expertise to inform decision-making processes.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Cultivate and manage relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring synchronisation on project objectives and timelines.
  • Effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions, fostering a collaborative environment conducive to achieving shared goals.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Economics, Physics, or Computer Science, with preference for candidates holding advanced degrees, or relevant work experience
  • Strong statistical knowledge, encompassing proficiency in advanced statistical methods and techniques, as well as practical experience applying statistical principles to real-world data analysis challenges.
  • Experience working with cloud services, preferably in AWS or Azure, demonstrating proficiency in leveraging cloud infrastructure for data analytics tasks.
  • Familiarity with Databricks is considered desirable, showcasing an understanding of advanced analytics and data engineering workflows within a collaborative environment.
  • Demonstrable experience in analytical techniques, showcasing the ability to extract actionable insights from intricate datasets in commercial contexts.
  • Proficiency in advanced data manipulation using SQL and Excel and Python. Visualisation experience with tools such as Tableau or Power BI is desirable.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation abilities, adept at articulating intricate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • A strong desire to transform businesses using data, technology and science
