Position Overview

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will build the foundations that enable data driven marketing and the digital transformation journey at Autodesk. You will work with data strategists to understand the business requirements and execute the tactical aspects of delivering on the vision. Your team will drive multiple tool selection initiatives, ingesting data from different source systems to the data lake, Data Wrangling to enable downstream data consumers, developing systems & processes to improve data reliability, developing a comprehensive data catalog and training downstream data consumers.

You will report to Sr. Manager, Software Development. This is a hybrid position in Bengaluru.

Responsibilities

• Deliver on the business data requirements, using an agile development process.

• Investigate, identify and establish new tools and processes for data warehousing, data quality assurance, reporting, business intelligence, data governance and data cataloging.

• Setup reliable data ingestion pipelines for new data sources and integrate them effectively with existing data sets.

• Assemble, aggregate and transform large datasets to meet the requirements of downstream data consumers.

• Build data quality tracking mechanisms and diligently execute the issue address processes. Address inevitable disruptions in data ingestion and processing.

• Develop a comprehensive data catalog.

• Develop robust internal documentation.

• Implement data governance strategies as required by the business

• Address questions and concerns from downstream data consumers.

• Continue to adapt to changes based on emergence of new technologies, new competitors, artificial intelligence and alternative sources of data.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data warehousing or data engineering.

• 2+ years of working knowledge of the Agile development process.

• Advanced working knowledge of SQL. Experience working with relational databases, query authoring and working familiarity with a variety of databases.

• Proficient in at least one the programming language (Python, bash, Java etc).

• Strong working knowledge of three or more of the following technologies:

  • Data Warehouse Solutions: Redshift or Snowflake

  • Cloud storage: S3

  • AWS Cloud Services: Athena, Aurora, Glue, Lambda, Kinesis, EC2, EMR or RDS.

  • Big Data analytics: Databricks, Hadoop or Spark

  • Workflow management: Oozie, PySpark, Scala or Hive

  • Report and BI: Looker, Qlikview, Tableau, Einstein Analytics or PowerBI

  • Other Sales, Marketing and Automation tools: Salesforce, Marketo, Adobe Analytics, Cvent, Siebel or UiPath

  • Object-oriented or scripting languages: Python or Java

  • Tools used to identify and manage unstructured data

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, initiative and ownership.

• Superb analytical skills, technical aptitude, and attention to detail.

• Experience working with Analytics, Data Science or Reporting teams.

• Flexible and be able to embrace change.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelors or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems or in another quantitative fields.
