What You Need To Know

Overview

Explores new technologies and sets the technology direction while ensuring alignment with business strategies and drivers.  Establishes the approach for integration of information applications and programs. The role integrates the project and program strategies across multiple programs and projects. Finally, the IT Enterprise Architect catalogs, develops, coordinates, communicates, maintains, and enforces the overall Enterprise Architecture Models, Representations, Initiatives, Capabilities, and Standard Components used by the Enterprise to perform all business and technology related activities. The individual has very strong VP level leadership and behavior competencies.

Specialized Skills and Technologies

Technical Leadership:

• Define and execute the technical vision and strategy for Innovation, ensuring alignment with technology and business objectives.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership, guiding the development and deployment of complex AI/ML or Enterprise applications, from concept to production.

AI Research and Development:

• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI and machine learning, identifying opportunities for innovation and differentiation.
• Lead the research and development efforts to create state-of-the-art AI/ML models and algorithms, fostering a culture of continuous learning and exploration.

Team Management and Collaboration:

• Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, data engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of AI/ML solutions into existing systems.

Technical Excellence and Best Practices:

• Establish and enforce engineering best practices, coding standards, and quality benchmarks to ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and maintainable AI solutions.
• Drive continuous improvement in AI engineering processes, tools, and methodologies.

Strategic Planning and Stakeholder Communication:

• Collaborate with senior leadership to align Innovation initiatives with overall business goals.
• Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and provide strategic insights on the impact of AI technologies on business outcomes.
   

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate Architecture Plans
• Assist in aligning business and enterprise initiatives with the Enterprise Architecture
• Audit compliance within the Enterprise Architecture standards
• Facilitate strategic sessions up to an executive level
• Team leader
• Market (“sell” the results of architectural approaches through presentations).
• Analysis and design
• Model and create graphical representations and abstractions
• Translate/map business strategy into information strategy
• Stay up to date on best practices and new technologies and solutions
• Coordinate all Enterprise Architecture and governance activities
• Serve as an expert in applicant development, database design, and/or platform (operating system) efforts, helping project teams comply with enterprise and IT policies, industry regulations, and best practices
• Work with Solution Architects and Solution Engineers to ensure solutions throughout all IT systems and platforms adhere to the enterprise architecture and to mitigate identified risks sufficiently, and to meet business objectives and regulatory requirements
   

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience and education combination
• 12+ years of work experience in IT

• Understand technology product and vendor strategies, products, and customer preferences

• Excellent verbal/written communication skills (e.g.:  presentations, seminars, etc.), and written (e.g.:  reports, articles, etc.)
• In addition to the analysis background, the Enterprise Architect will possess a broad background in different sectors and has experience and knowledge in at least one aspect of the business (example:  retail, distribution, food, and beverage etc.).  This is necessary to allow the Enterprise Architect to dialog with businesspeople and management, on their terms
• Technical knowledge is broader versus deep on platforms (SAP, SalesForce, Microsoft)
   

Physical Demands

• Physical demands include a considerable amount of time sitting and typing/keyboarding, using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor), or mobile device
• Physical demands with activity or condition may occasionally include walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping
• May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs
