Location: This work could be done based out of Albuquerque, NM or Luling, TX or Huntsville, AL.

About the Role:

X-Bow Systems is expanding and looking to fill a Data Engineer position to support manufacturing, testing and launch vehicle missions. As a Data Engineer, you will have a key role in selecting, building, and implementing systems that collect, manage, and manipulate raw data into useable information for engineering, operations and manufacturing teams to interpret and act upon. Data sources include manufacturing process and inspection data from multiple facilities, motor hot-fire test data including video, and flight data from vehicle launch missions.

Collaboration is key as you will work with multi-disciplinary teams to identify requirements and implement solutions. You'll know you're successful in this role when you've identified, scoped and delivered solutions that satisfy the needs of each team while within budget and schedule bounds. To thrive in this role, you will have demonstrated success in a distributed workplace environment with multiple stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience building, testing, and maintaining data pipeline architectures
• Demonstrated experience architecting, cataloging, and managing engineering data repositories
• Demonstrated experience manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large, disconnected datasets
• Expert in creating and communicating product road maps to explain priorities and capabilities
• Python coding skills for data movement and data manipulation (not app development)
• SQL skill areas: table partitioning, bucketing, Hive, HQL, windowing functions, aggregates, ranking, table joins, self-joins, subqueries, data modelling, User defined functions (UDF) and Common Table Expressions (CTE), optimizing SQL query performance.
• Promotes a culture of data driven decisions, insights, and processes
• Demonstrated experience leading software/infrastructure implementation projects including scope, budget and schedule 3+ years directly related experience
• S. degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
• Must be a US Persons as defined by § 120.62 of the ITAR
