Purpose : 

The Manager of Data Integration Services will be responsible for leading a team of integration architects and engineers to deliver against the Enterprise API-Lead and Event-driven Data Integration strategy. This role will drive the design, build, and deployment of integration solutions across the organization, while providing leadership, oversight, mentoring, and architecture guidance to the team. A key accountability of this position is to deliver high quality and performant solutions with a robust design that incorporates best practices and resiliency.   

 

The Manager of Data Integration services will partner with Enterprise Architects, Solution and Data Architects, Cyber Security Architects, business stakeholders, and vendors to successfully build data integrations to enable McCain’s Analytics and AI strategy.

 

Duties and responsibilities

 

  • Lead the Data Integration Services team through the design, development, and implementation of API interfaces between various McCain systems.
  • Develop strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of data integration solutions.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to understand, frame, and coordinate implementation of data integration solutions.
  • Ensure that the API-Lead and an even-driven approach and principles drive all data integration design decisions.  
  • Participate in project core team meetings to discuss status, risks, and mitigation strategies across delivery teams.
  • Enforce adherence to best practices to build high quality code that guarantees efficient and high performing integrations.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of API-led and event-driven integration solutions, including API design, data mapping, transformation, and orchestration.
  • Drive the adoption of best practices for fault detection, failover implementation, error handling, and overall system reliability across all integration solutions.
  • Manage team’s capacity to ensure effective delivery of solutions as per commitments.
  • Provide guidance and technical direction to integration engineers and architects.
  • Ensure compliance with established data governance and security policies.
  • Manage objectives, priorities, and performance of direct reports.

 

 

Qualifications

 

Education

Bachelor or Masters in Computer Science, Information Management, Software Engineering, or equivalent work experience.

 

Work Experience

  • At least 7 years of experience working in cross-functional teams and collaborating with business stakeholders in support of departmental and/or multi-departmental data integration initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience as technical lead in large integration projects using modern tools and technologies.
  • Hands-on experience designing and building APIs and event driven integration solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one iPaaS solution such as SAP Integration Suit, Microsoft Azure Integration Services, Mulesoft, Boomi or Informatica.
  • Strong understanding of integration patterns, API management, and best practices for system connectivity.
  • Experience providing technical guidance and leading teams of integration architects and integration engineers.
  • Hands-on programming skills with Python, Java, or C#, etc. 
  • Experience working with relational databases and SQL supporting integration techniques.
  • Proven experience in Agile software product development with distributed virtual teams.
  • Multi-year experience implementing and/or operating in an environment using System Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Experience building integrations for SAP Hana, Salesforce, Databricks, and Azure data platforms is considered highly beneficial. 

 

Technical knowledge, Abilities, and skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and functional team members in addition to business stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of modern integration technologies, API concepts, microservices, design patterns, scripting, event driven architecture, etc.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, data stewardship, data quality, data privacy, and data security.
  • Ability to work across multiple environments and source data systems in cloud, on-premises, and hybrid.
  • Understanding of data domains in AgTech, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Sales, Finance, HR is an asset.
  • Innovative, curious with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong focus on delivery through collaboration with team members cross functions.

  • Able to collaborate with both the business and IT teams to define the business problem and refine the requirements for application integration initiatives.  
  • Flexibility to balance competing initiatives, multi-task between project development and customer support, and adapt to changing business and technical requirements.
  • Good judgment, a sense of urgency, and commitment to high standards of ethics, regulatory compliance, customer service and business integrity.
  • Strong drive to stay current with industry best practices and trends on application integration technologies.
