Overview

Student Intern will be working closely with Research Scientist to learn aseptic technique that she/he will be utilizing during their work at the FISI R&D. The Intern will be using general Lab instrumentation like balances, pH meters, centrifuges and different analytical measuring devices. The candidate will be conducting two fed-batch cell culture experiments with two different cell lines to monitor and optimize the concentration of a supplement amino acid that is essential for cells’ growth and the protein production. Feeding strategy is also cell line dependent and has a noticeable effect on cells’ growth and productivity. Thus testing different conditions (cell culture media, feeding strategy and the amino acid dose dependency) will allow optimizing and standardizing the requirements for each tested cell lines. Summer Intern will also perform basic statistical analysis of collected analytical data for interpretation and visualization of obtained experimental results.
