Job Description
You will join our diverse team of Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers and become an active part of our larger, international data science and engineering community. Our team and the community have a wide variety of backgrounds from physics to computer science to quantitative psychology, but we all share the passion: to apply our expertise to improve e-recruiting.

Your work
You will join the 3 Data Scientists and 2 ML Engineers in our team, and 40+ Data Scientists & Machine Learning Engineers across the organization, to build and improve AI systems for Stepstone. This will include classical machine learning systems for forecasting, scoring and classification, data enrichment pipelines and building blocks to train, evaluate, and serve large language models.
You will be actively involved in the engineering, design, implementation, and deployment needed to scale the application of our machine learning models. You can take a project from idea to experiment, to prototype, to implementation!
You will work with our development stack consisting of AWS SageMaker, MLFlow, Terraform, and others, and help evaluating and introducing any new tools and technologies that might help us work more efficiently.
You will also actively work on current LLMs, including fine-tuning and productionizing open source models at scale.
Together with other Machine Learning Engineers, you will help define and evolve best practices for our community.
You will interact with various product owners across the company for defining and understanding their problems from a technical perspective, contributing to and driving efficient formulations and solutions to these problems.
You will keep track of the state of the art in MLOps and scalable techniques for machine learning and optimisation, and actively implement them within the group.
Qualifications
Technical Skills
You have good python skills and experience in applying them to business problems
You appreciate coding rigour and have good software development skills.
You are open to learn and challenge yourself in a fast-paced environment.
You have Industry experience with cloud services for machine learning. Hands-on experience with AWS services, specifically Sagemaker is a plus
You have expertise with building scalable ML & LLM solutions
You have good knowledge of Docker and CI/CD (e.g. Atlassian Bamboo)
You have good communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
You have experience with building and or using model management tools (e.g. mlflow)
Experience with LLMs is a strong plus.
Optional Skills
Experience in DevOps, Cloud Operations is a plus
Nice to have: Experience with Kafka as some of the pipelines are event-driven
Nice to have: Experience with vector databases.
Nice to have: Experience in AWS administration and permission management
Nice to have: IaC (Terraform)
Labor market or economics knowledge is not necessary but a plus
Interest in data ethics and fair machine learning systems is a plus
