What's the Role?
As Glow looks beyond being an insurance Broker and expands its vision of continuing to delight our customer with additional affordable insurance products, we are looking to bring engineers who have the drive to be a part of this Glow 2.0 journey. If you get excited hearing about big dataset and complex data analysis, this is the place to be at. As a Data Engineer at Glow, you will be the backbone of everything we do and plan to do at Glow. You will have the opportunity to work with a team of very smart engineers and passionate business leader while making key decisions about our data systems. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about using their technical expertise to make a positive impact on people's lives. You will be responsible for creating exceptional code and establishing the foundation of our data and reporting ecosystem.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Working closely with the leadership team to define and build our configurable data pipeline
  • Architecting technical solutions that align with our platform vision and business requirements
  • Partnering with the Lead Platform Engineer in building complex data ingestion and aggregation pipelines systems
  • Designing systems that are reliable, scalable, accurate and delivers reports in a timely manner
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand evolving systems, product changes, and build data lakes to support data warehouse and eventually a self served reporting platform

You'll be a great fit if you:

  • Are a full stack developer with 8+ years of experience and advanced data related skills (Python, Perl, R, SQL, Docker)
  • Have experience implementing reporting looks like Looker, Tableau, Domo, Power BI
  • Have experience building high-scale, cloud-based data lakes and data warehousing system
  • Have experience working with cloud infrastructure by using infrastructure as code tools (e.g. Terraform)
  • Have strong experience with relational and non-relational databases
  • Have a familiarity with Event-based architecture, CQRS, and Event Sourcing
  • Hold a BS in Computer Science, Mathematics or related degree
