What you will be doing:

Ideally based in Melbourne but with hybrid work options, the Data Engineer will be responsible for providing data solutions to understand and solve complex data problems. Your responsibilities will include transforming data for use in creation, maintenance, and automation of the data pipelines. You will work closely with the Delivery Lead and Client Portfolio Analytics lead to build data solutions based on prioritised use cases.

In this role you will:

  • Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Work with other data engineers and data analysts to build an environment which enables democratisation of organisational insights.
  • Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines.
  • Collaborate with data analysts to improve data models that feed business intelligence solutions, to increase data accessibility.
  • Ensure high levels of data quality and reviewing business transformation logic.
  • Create stored procedures to build data assets for analytics purpose.

Qualifications

What you will need to be successful:

  • Proficient in SQL at an intermediate to advanced level.
  • Experience working on data platforms like Teradata, with experience in any cloud environment highly preferred.
  • Experience in analytics programming languages (e.g., Python) is highly preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of DBT, Starburst, Pyspark is highly preferred.
  • Adept at data creation, and passionate about applying advanced data engineering skills to create and maintain data pipelines.
  • An eye for accuracy, the ability to self-manage multiple data sets and data requests, and flexibility to respond quickly.
