As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Sector & Resiliency Technology team you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Drive significant business impact through your capabilities and contributions, and apply deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to tackle a diverse array of challenges that span multiple technologies and applications.

Job responsibilities

  • Work with business users and analysts in understanding requirements and translating them into appropriate technical specifications.
  • Designing & developing reports/dashboards using BI tool like Tableau, Qlikview, Cognos, etc.
  • Creating, enhancing and maintaining metadata Framework Manager Models (Relational and Dimensional) to support business requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with data management team to provide inputs to the Logical and Physical data model creation to meet the analytical needs.
  • Assist team in analyzing the report/model performance issues and provide solutions, including assisting in writing any complex queries as necessary.
  • Maintain necessary architecture and design documentation.
  • Suggest potential adoption of innovative technologies that enable rapid delivery.
  • Cultivate an open, honest and transparent environment that encourages proper collaboration between business & technology teams.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and Security.
  • Advanced knowledge of one or more BI tools such as Tableau and Cognos.
  • Strong understanding of data warehouse concepts and working experience in relational and dimensional modelling is required.
  • Good understanding and practical experience working with relational databases like Oracle.
  • Good understanding and experience working with NoSQL databases and leveraging the same for BI.
  • Strong communication skills, be able to communicate effectively and work closely together with business clients, other technology teams, support partners and stakeholders to deliver business aligned solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability.
  • Mentor a team on technical aspects.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
  • Knowledge about BI tools such as Qlikview, Alteryx, Business Objects.
  • Certification in Cloud technology and NoSQL databases.
  • Knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practices.
  • Capable of self-learning new technologies and should be able to work with minimal supervision.
