Reference Data Management Operations (RDMO) is responsible for creation & maintenance of Assets, Pricing, Issuer, Index reference data,  along with SOD pricing oversight for the prices received from Vendor via internal source and support for Market data analytics. RDMO provides global 24/5 operational support & services to multiple stakeholders within Asset and Wealth Management Business which includes various internal groups i.e. Operations, Front office,  Middle Office, Performance Analysis group, Client reporting, Compliance, Regulatory reporting  and collaborates with Technology & CDO to Onboard/implement strategic system of record and authoritative data sources which helps business to receive real time, dynamic reference data. RDMO also partners with Ops to resolve the data quality issues, with objective to enhance the data users experience and timely grab the opportunities to meet Business demands across regions .

Within RDMO the Instrument,  Pricing & Issuer Reference Data Operations teams provide high quality Reference Data to its subscribers from major external market providers under a single operating model.  Asset prices, instrument & issuer attributes are sourced, validated, mastered and distributed via J.P. Morgan’s strategic Reference Data architecture and is used for trading, risk management, fund valuation, settlement and regulatory reporting.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Securities Creation + Maintenance, and Pricing of Tradable assets like Alternatives, Private Equities, from multiple vendor sources like Bloomberg, S&P, IDC, Reuters, CITCO etc.
  • Start of day price checks e.g. Variance, Missing and Stale control checks.
  • Entity setup and maintenance. 
  • Perform BAU tasks related to Instruments/Entity Creation, Pricing and Control Reports with in SLA.
  • Analyze all Issues & Errors, assess solutions and propose the same to Managers
  • Perform Testing for any New Enhancements and Strategic Integration as part of Adoption
  • Liaise with Instrument pricing vendor (Internal & External) to resolve issues and minimize risk.
  • Monitor systems for related job success and resolve issues by working with technology teams.
  • Escalate all issues promptly and effectively to supervisor.
  • Contribute to ongoing developments of the pricing control process.
  • Lead Ad-hoc project work as directed by Managers.

Required qualification, skills and capabilities:

  • 4-6 years of experience in Reference Data related roles
  • Demonstrate an understanding in financial markets and well versed with various products e.g. stocks, bonds, options, structured products, OTC etc.
  • Knowledge of industry activities - particularly Instruments and Pricing Ref Data, corporate actions, index benchmarking, stock markets and all asset classes.
  • Instruments & Pricing vendor knowledge, i.e. Bloomberg, Reuters, ICE, etc.
  • Advanced MS Office especially Excel skills, including pivot tables and v-look ups
  • Mathematical mind-set demonstrating strong numerical skills
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills and attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and proactive with the proven ability to work accurately and under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate within a team environment and interact across departments
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Have a proactive approach to problem solving, taking ownership of issues and having the determination to bring the issues to the closure.
