The Chief Administrative Office (CAO) Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO) is responsible for the overall data strategy, analytics, reporting, and governance across the firm's CAO functions. This function supports groups such as Global Supplier Services, Global Security, Global Real Estate, Amenity Services, Document & Business Solutions, and CAO Strategic Initiatives. Our team’s mission is to help our organization manage its data assets and find the best solutions to surface insights from our data in an effort to drive business goals & initiatives, enhance analytics, and streamline reporting. In doing so, we look for improvements ranging from establishing quality data repositories to designing cutting edge analytic insights utilizing the latest data visualization and machine learning tools.

The CAO – Data Governance Team is responsible for providing the resources, tools and support necessary to monitor, manage and prevent data risks across a global landscape, lead strategic and innovative data related projects that deliver business value, and foster a culture of data ownership throughout JPMC’s Chief Administrative Office.

As a Data Quality VP within the team, you will be expected to play a lead role in defining and executing on a CAO data quality strategy, roadmap and prioritization framework, which optimizes people, processes and technology to improve our overall data quality program maturity level and provide for a portfolio view into the health of our data.  The ideal candidate should be self-driven and results-oriented with experience implementing large data quality and/or data governance programs and handling multiple, complex projects and priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with CAO CDAO leadership team and senior stakeholders to support the expanding book of work for the CAO Data Governance program
  • Define and maintain a data quality operating model, standards, rules, requirements, and processes that support CAO in ensuring our prioritized data is fit for purpose
  • Partner with our stakeholders, business partners and technology teams to ensure successful rollout, implementation and adoption of Firmwide and/or CAO CDO defined, data quality standards and best practices
  • Lead, maintain and improve upon CAO’s existing data quality issue management program including communications and training for key process stakeholders
  • Ensure alignment to evolving Firmwide CDAO Data Quality policies, standards, and best practices and incorporate requirements into the CAO CDAO data governance framework, augmenting as needed, for CAO business priorities
  • Maintain alignment with the Firm’s risk and controls framework, evaluating quality of data in support of critical business processes and compliance with global laws, rules, and regulatory requirements
  • Establish communications and knowledge-sharing mechanisms, that support data stewardship and advance data literacy across the organization
  • Partner with Technology to modernize CAO’s data platform (CAO Data Lake) and lead development and implementation of a CAO Data Lake Playbook, defining our approach to data product lifecycle management, data risk management, data discoverability, data glossaries, data lineage, and data quality, etc. 
  • Ensure existing and emerging technologies/tools align with CDO data governance, data quality and/or CAO business requirements
  • Develop and present data quality reporting/metrics/analysis to support CAO Data Governance Council meetings and priorities 

Qualifications

Knowledge/Experience

  • 13+ years of financial services industry experience in data governance, business controls, data/risk management or technology controls preferred
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in Data Quality space, must have implemented Data Quality frameworks & overall issue management around data quality  
  • Deep knowledge and experience of data quality capabilities - profiling, rules development, validation, outlier detection, monitoring, alerting & notification, stewardship workflow for data remediation, etc.
  • Understand data ownership capability for applying quality control field to assessing, managing, using, improving, monitoring, maintaining, and protecting organizational information
  • Experience working on Cloud based Big data implementation platforms and projects (i.e. Data Lake). Strong understating of data quality, data catalog, governance, ETL, data management, and related topics
  • Knowledge of control and risk management concepts with the ability to evaluate controls, create procedure and process flows in conjunction with business and control partners
  • Knowledge around data modelling, data lineage and data architecture concepts
  • Experience leading projects or processes across multiple teams/constituents
  • Advanced analytic and problem-solving skills, including business process and root cause analysis, solution identification 
  • Creation of unique solutions with lens of automation, process and controls

Tools/Methodologies

  • Experience in data management tools (Atlan, Soda, Anamolo, Informatica)
  • Agile/Scrum experience and associated tools (Confluence, Jira, Kanban)
  • Microsoft desktop productivity tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Word, SharePoint, Teams)
  • Lean/Six Sigma experience preferred 
  • Experience in business intelligence tools (Qlikview, Tableau) a plus

  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).  Ability to communicate business and technical concepts to both expert and novice audiences, and to all levels of the organization
  • Detail-oriented and ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment with frequently changing priorities and to meet deadlines under pressure
  • Self-starter and independent worker with organization skills for complex projects
  • Ability to influence executives or responsible parties in a working project team
  • Drive communications, stakeholder engagement and resolution of complex issues
  • Collaborative mindset and team player across diverse functions, locations and businesses
  • Ability to adapt to fast paced and changing environment in a highly regulated industry
