    Job Description

    The Auto practice within Epsilon accelerates and drives growth for major players of the automotive industry, from Original Equipment Manufacturers to Dealers big and small in the US and Canada. Part of a 1,600-member global team, the practice offers the automotive world’s largest service reminder platform along with agency services and digital media solutions. A leader in the automotive space, the team supports over 50% dealers in the US and manages 280M+ customer vehicle relations. Our Auto team is home to innovative thoughts, latest in technology and is always at the front of learning new. The Manager, Data Engineering manages the data management/governance initiatives from conception to completion, providing clients and key stakeholders actionable data pipeline results and insights that help them achieve their business objectives.

    Role Responsibilities

    • Account for the overall management of Data and Analytics projects; including timeliness, quality, and client value. QA/QC data and report output to ensure accuracy.
    • Assist with the development of innovative plans for addressing key areas of data management and governance improvements.
    • Collaborate with leadership to devise strategic direction and conduct analysis by qualitatively and/or quantitatively analyzing data/information.
    • Perform data manipulations with tools such as BigQuery, SAS/ACCESS, and Tableau
    • Prepare reports, programs and other key deliverables that uncover insights for developing business recommendations, based on data findings.
    • Prioritize and monitor project progress against goals and tracking budgeted hours.
    • Present reports to key internal and external stakeholders, effectively communicate the key findings and recommendations.
    • Manage multiple projects and resources concurrently to ensure successful completion of data analytic projects.
    • Manage junior resource(s), who would be collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to manage data logistics, including data transfers, understanding data structures and data flows, business rules, etc. to enable project execution.
    • Mentor and develop junior staff members and project team colleagues.
    • Always focused on fulfilling clients’ core needs, value-add and exceed expectations.
    • Build trusted working relationship with all the stakeholders and cross team members.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Quantitative Discipline
    • 8+ years of experience working in Data Management or Data Engineering Teams.
    • 6+ years of hands-on coding experience in SAS (Base, Macros, ODS, Access) and SQL  
    • 6+ years of advanced data base knowledge in Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server or Postgre SQL
    • 2+ years of experience in managing, mentoring, and developing junior data engineers.
    • Good knowledge of ETL Process, Data Hub/Lakes/Mart/Mesh and Data Democratization
    • Exposure to BigQuery, Apache Hive and Cloud Platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) is a plus.
    • Working knowledge of Automotive Industry or Marketing data is an advantage.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills
    • Strong ability to build trusted working relationship with clients.
    • Flexibility to work in a virtual environment with stakeholders in US time zones.
    • Demonstrate technical acumen and possess good learning mindset.
    • Highly motivated and ability to collaborate with cross functional teams to get work done.
