We have a new and exciting opportunity for an ambitious Junior Data Scientist to join the Data Transformation team within Royal London Asset Management.

 

The Data Scientist will join the data strategy and transformation team and will support RLAM organization's artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives focussing on Machine Learning. They will work closely with the Data & AI Strategy manager to help shape RLAM AI Centre of Excellence (COE), collaborating with many business and technology stakeholders to develop AI-powered solutions that support RLAM’s business objectives.

 

This role is ideal for an individual early in their career of data scientist who is passionate about AI and would like to play a key role in driving the adoption and success of these technologies within the organisation.

 

About the role

 

  • Embraces AI principles for RLAM, including best practices for environments, coding, and approaches.
  • Supports the business with algorithm development including traditional AI and LLMs, t through the forthcoming AI COE consulting services.
  • Empowers business data science acting as a go-to person for guidance and support.
  • Collaborates on use cases ensuring that the organisation can fully leverage the power of AI and data.

 

About you

 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field such as data science, computer science, statistics, science (STEM) or a related field.
  • Some practical experience in Machine Learning/ data science related work / use case development.
  • Some experience applying statistical analysis and modelling techniques with real-world data to extract insights and make predictions.
  • Familiarity with at least one programming language, such as Python or R and ability to manipulate and analyse large datasets using SQL type queries.
  • Experience with Azure AI and Snowflake environments a plus although full training will be provided.
  • Experience in supporting use case development.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
