Overview

As a Technical Specialist at Cotiviti, you will engage in tasks typically associated with Data Integration Specialists/Analysts and ETL Developers. Your focus will be on supporting the design and implementation of data transformation processes that are critical to achieving our strategic business objectives. While you will collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements, acceptance criteria, and non-functional requirements in alignment with the SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework), your primary responsibility will be the hands-on execution of these requirements. This places you directly in the flow of transforming insights into action, ensuring that our data processes align with and support our overarching business objectives.

You'll be instrumental in ensuring the seamless integration and processing of large healthcare datasets, leveraging your technical skills to execute data mapping and transformation tasks. By utilizing tools such as Hadoop ecosystem tools (e.g., Hue for running Hive and Impala queries), you'll analyze and validate data, preparing it for impactful use across the organization. Your role is vital in tracking project progress, identifying issues, and supporting change and release management activities to implement functionality that meets or exceeds our expectations.

Ideal candidates for the Technical Specialist role are those who have a solid background in data management or related technical disciplines and the ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies. If you're keen on keeping up with the latest trends in data integration and have a proactive mindset towards developing and applying innovative data management strategies, you're the type of candidate we’re looking for. Professionals with experience in healthcare data are especially encouraged to apply. This role presents a distinctive opportunity for personal and professional growth within a nurturing environment, allowing you to hone your expertise and play a significant role in advancing Cotiviti's data management initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and optimization of data integration solutions, including working on scalable data integration frameworks and assisting with ETL process refinements for effective data flow.
  • Contribute to cross-functional, matrixed project teams, supporting day-to-day activities to achieve project goals within set timelines.
  • Collaborate with different departments, using your technical expertise to understand and help integrate data needs into Cotiviti's strategic plans.
  • Engage in process execution and improvements, suggesting enhancements and documenting updates to processes as needed.
  • Participate in all stages of project development from research and design to programming, testing, and implementation.
  • Assist in coordinating meetings, managing agendas, and tracking action items, ensuring smooth communication across Business Units.
  • Work with technical product owners, architects, and engineers to help refine business requirements and acceptance criteria, contributing to the overall success of projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, Data Science, Biostatistics, Health Information Management, or a related field preferred.
  • At least 3-4 years of experience in technical roles, ideally with exposure to healthcare data management, ETL development, data integration, or similar fields.
  • Familiarity with Hadoop ecosystem tools, such as Hue, for running Hive and Impala queries. Understanding of data mapping from raw datasets to a global standard format is a plus.
  • Ability to perform quality analysis on data and engage with stakeholders for data validation and sign-off.
  • Comfortable working within cross-functional teams and contributing to project objectives. Some experience leading small projects or project components is beneficial.
  • Knowledgeable in collaborating with technical teams to define business requirements and acceptance criteria. Experience in agile development environments, SAFe knowledge is a plus but not required.

Base compensation ranges from $68,000 to $80,000. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs. This role is eligible for discretionary bonus consideration.
