Senior Machine Learning Engineer, Ads Marketplace Quality

Ads Marketplace Quality team is growing and we are looking for an experienced software engineer to be part of the journey of developing a world-class marketplace and optimizing for users, advertisers and Reddit value.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing a vision to improve our Ads Marketplace. You will develop a deep understanding of our marketplace dynamics and identify areas of improvements by getting to the bottom of data, design, implement and ship algorithms to production that improve our ads delivery funnel with the goal of upleveling the utility for both our advertiser and user values. In particular, you will work on our Ad Relevance initiatives, where you will drive and execute on Reddit’s vision to transform Reddit into an advertising platform that serves ads that are highly relevant to our users
As a senior machine learning engineer in the Ads Marketplace Quality team, you will be an industry technical leader with domain knowledge in marketplace dynamics, you will research, formulate, and execute on our mission to build end-to-end ML solutions and deliver the highly relevant ad to the right user under the right context with data and ML driven solutions. You will deliver with strong execution and cross-functional management skills.
Responsibilities:
- Building industrial-level models for critical ML tasks with advanced modeling techniques to improve ad relevance on Reddit
- Research, implement, test, and launch new model architectures including deep neural networks with advanced pooling and feature interaction architectures;
- Proactively further our understanding of marketplace dynamics and develop algorithms to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our ads ranking and auction
- Drive technical roadmaps and lead day to day project execution, and contribute meaningfully to team vision and strategy
- Lead junior engineers in implementing technical designs
- Be a cross-functional advocate for the team, collaborate with product managers and data scientists to innovate and build products
Required Qualifications:
- Tracking records of consistently driving KPI wins through systematic works around model architecture and feature engineering
- 3+ years of experience with industry-level product development
- 4+ years of end-to-end experience of training, evaluating, testing, and deploying industry-level machine learning models
- 4+ years of experience of orchestrating complicated data generation pipelines on large-scale dataset
- Proficiency with programming languages (Java, Python, Golang, C++, or similar) and statistical analysis.
- Experience with Ads (Marketplace) domain is a plus
- Experience with Ads Relevance is a plus
- Desire to mentor other engineers and level-up the team’s strength

In addition to base salary, this job is eligible to receive equity in the form of restricted stock units, and depending on the position offered, it may also be eligible to receive a commission.
