Data Scientist

As we evolve from startup to scale-up, we're seeking a Data Scientist to bolster our Analytics team, providing deep insights and fostering innovation from our Brussels and Oostkamp offices.

The Data Scientist will be integral in leveraging data to drive strategic decisions, specializing in forecasting, computer vision, and generative AI. This role demands a blend of advanced technical skills and the ability to apply data science methodologies to solve complex business challenges.

Your Key Responsibilities as a Data Scientist will include:

• Develop predictive models and algorithms to forecast future trends using Python and SQL
• Build AI driven prototype applications leveraging a wide ranges of capabilities
• Implement computer vision techniques to analyze and interpret visual data from various sources
• Explore and apply (generative) AI capabilities to enhance decision-making and innovation within the organization
• Collaborate with the BI Expert and Data Analyst to ensure a cohesive data strategy that supports the organization’s goals
• Conduct advanced data analyses to uncover hidden insights and inform strategic initiatives
• Constantly look out for latest trends & use cases relevant to our industry

Requirements

Must Haves Qualities & Talents:

• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience in one or several of the following domains: forecasting, computer vision, geospatial analysis and generative AI technologies
• Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to navigate complex data landscapes and deliver comprehensive insights
• Ability to cope with uncertainty and establish analytical foundations in a scale-up context
• Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; PhD is a plus
• At least 3 years of relevant experience, ideally in telecom, ecommerce, or technology industries
• Proficient in English and in Dutch or French
• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities, critical thinking, and a strong commitment to innovation
• Ability to work collaboratively within an agile team, sharing knowledge and contributing to a wide variety of projects
• Skills in building interactive python based apps with Streamlit, Flask or other frameworks of your choice
• Skills in building & integrating AI/data driven automation processes (e.g. micro-service or alike
